This is starting to make me curious as the Surfliner is starting to use Dash 8's again. It makes me think, what if Metrolink and Coaster use their retired locomotives as cab cars for backup use. Anyways, its nice to see the Surf Line back to it's former glory.

@@AmtrakFunkandDiscoFan the dash 8 use is only temporary as Amtrak works with Siemens to get a new SC-44 after 2109 went bye bye, as for Metrolink and coaster, NPCU conversions of units like SCAX 800 and maybe even NCTC 2002 (only coaster F59 I remember) could be good for passenger service

@AviationMushy737 I mean, Coaster 2103 is used as a cab car at the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum, so that's what I needed to clarify. It's engine block is drilled, but it's electrical system still works.
