Thanks for your comment. Since this video, we've added captions to all audience questions, and we will continue to do that until we add an audience mic to the Event Space setup.

@Abhishek Parmar For still photography, a lens with a focal length about equal to the diagonal size of the film or sensor format is considered to be a normal lens. For a Full-frame sensor 43.4mm's - 50mm lenses are considered normal An APS-C sensor 27.3mm's - 30-35mm lens are considered normal A 4/3rd's sensor 22.4mm's - 25mm lenses are considered normal

Visual dynamics discussions up until the unsolicited questions take over are very useful.

For all commentators, the info at 7:25 about APS-C 17mm is a typo, it should be 27mm, and to be honest I believe it should be around 35mm. anyway. hope this helps.

Very good presentation full of valuable info. My only complaint would be about the questions from the audience. I'm not opposed to questions but was annoyed with their constant interruptions.

Yes, that's true, good catch. It should be in that range for APS-C.

Best Video about Camera Lens I have see so far. Thank you for Explaining. How we see? what is normal? If Full frame = 43.2 mm than APS-C = 17 mm and 4/3 = 18 mm. How is this possible. Because Crop Factor is 1.6 or 1.5 and 2 I couldnt understand this because APS-C Sensor is bigger than 4/3 Sensor can you please explain?

If 'normal' is 42mm on a 35mm camera, it's 28mm, not 17 on APS-C

Great lecture, although I really wish questions in these presentations could be answered at a designated time...not just on the fly when just blurted out. Completely interrupts the flow of the presentation.

Unlike Thomas Fuchs I know the art of hearing and also the art of listening and I was gifted with a brain. Where or why do you get off at discrediting another person? If you have contrasting opinions so be it but keep it to yourself meng. I found this educational and informative and although things he said may be a bit shady there was a lot of knowledge passed down. The only thing I can say is keep these videos coming BH thanks. Can you add a microphone or something that captures the audience?

There are so many lies spread in this video, it's terrible! The worst part was when he said that longer focal lengths produce a shallower depth of field than a wide angle. The DOF is the same, it just depends on the aperture and the image scale/ratio (and thus the format you're shooting). A 24mm lens has the same DOF as a 24000mm lens at the same aperture and image ratio.
