Looks good. have done some of this in reverse. Will consider for next year as you say so quiet. Fred was very busy this year with traffic, moreso than 2022.

If I were to do either as a casual club ride I'd pick the Fred route, but as an event I'd do the etape, just safer and far less hassle.

Great video and congrats on the ride. How did this compare to the Fred Whitton? I did the Fred this year and hated it, not the route just how busy it was, climbs too busy, descending was dangerous with so many riders and feed stations where utter chaos and you had to que to just get into them, just crazy, there was also masses of traffic on the roads the further you got into it and standing traffic on Braithwaite and Whinlatter was horrendous but this was probably due to the fact it ended up as the coronation bank holiday weekend which it wouldn’t have been normally and it wasn’t a bank holiday at the time of the ballot. This look like nice quiet roads and much more relaxing.

Very little traffic on the route. No big groups of riders anywhere. No chaos at feed stations, I was pretty much by myself on descents. It felt like a big club ride really. Very different from the Fred and just as tough! Thanks for watching.

Did both last year. The Fred in 7:15 and managed a 6:59 in the Dales, but the wind last year on the Dales ride was horrific. In the same conditions the Fred is much tougher IMO.

Yes it's the Etape du Dales. I put it in the sub heading but I don't think it always shows on KZbin.
