Hi Simon, been watching some of your Fred videos. Hoping to do it myself next year with a goal of not walking. What do you think is needed for an 83+kg, ex-weightlifter who doesn't have all the time in the world to train each week?

Well apart from the weightlifting I was and I am in the same boat. Time poor means the need for constant activity no matter how small, my training was base training from riding and running a little but regularly, then leading up to the Fred I tried to do more then running 30mins every day for a month in April before the May date!!! No magic pill just be consistent 👍 Running if you can helps, alot more effort goes into moving you forward and you never hear of people doing regular 6 hrs training runs were as there are plenty of cyclist's doing 6hrs regularly on a bike! Play the cards you have 👍👍

@@simonthomas-lakedistrictvelo thanks alot for the reply. I hadn't even considered running, but I suppose with all the climbing it makes sense really. I will definitely put your advice into practice over the winter and apply for the Fred next year and see if I can get lucky on the draw. Thanks again Simon.

Thanks Start your base now!! 30 minutes of something daily if you can 👍👍 Nobody ever thinks they have done enough training when they get to the start line 🤣
