AS6C62256 32K SRAM Integrated Circuit

In this video we take a look at how to read and write bytes of data to and from the ASC662256 static ram chip. We start by taking a quick look through the datasheet, and then we connect the chip to some circuitry on a breadboard.
Dip switches are used to select the address and push buttons are used to drive either the read or write lines low. The data on the data bus can be seen visually via some red LEDs.
This chip can be connected as part of a larger system such as an 8-bit microcomputer.

Hi Steve Can this type of memory be encrypted so that the stored program cannot be taken?

Hi there. It can store any data, so you could encrypt before storing and decrypt after reading back. But remember this is just RAM the data is lost when the power is removed.
