I love metal. Especially extreme metal. I’m from British Columbia, Canada. I’ve been listening to metal for almost 30 years. I don’t care who is playing the music as long as it’s good. I just found this band on Apple Music and I’m in love with it. Black metal is something very special. It has a feel that a lot of bands try to create but aren’t able to. These ladies got it. Most Black metal people in these bands mostly sound very intelligent, and she is no different. I really enjoy listening to these interviews. They usually have a good view on life and what thier music really means to them. She is as gorgeous and intelligent outside the band as she is brutal lyrically and musically on stage. Another favorite new band of mine.

While on one hand, I agree it needn't always be pointed out that they're all-female, I also think they kinda deserve some recognition just for the effort it takes to even _find_ that many dedicated female black metal musicians and bring them together. It's difficult for me even to find another female black metal _fan_ to chat with or go to shows with. I've not yet listened to their music but I'll never not be impressed by the way musicians in bands just sorta.. find people who fit all their requirements. It's hard!

There are plenty of gals in bm scene, yet most of them play absolutely nothing. Of course the same applies to guys as well, but more often than gals, guys play or sing, run a zine, organize events etc. For example here in Finland if I go to a smaller gig or fest, it's very likely that quite a few of them have played or still play in bands vs. the women of which almost nobody plays anything. So, I think it's worth mentioning when there's an all-female band doing BM. Even if it's meaningless which gender they are vs. how their music is, I think it's something that people could think about for a while.

@@RautaMetal Yeah! It can be good to showcase it sometimes, inspiring, to let people know it's a possibility. When we don't see ourselves represented, it may not even occur to us as an option. Of course, the black metal philosophy tends to be fuck all those norms anyway, so that probably makes it an attractive artistic venue for any underrepresented group.

Indeed! It’s often a good idea to remind people of these options and possibilities. Not everybody can be a pioneer. For example, without some early BM bands there, many bands of the 2nd wave might not have happened without the 1st wave bands. Same can be said about bands like Astarte, which is one of the first all-female bm bands.

Bands like Asagraum breaks those rules, hypocrisy and traditions and I can happily admit it's very freshy and nasty tasty! Very well spoken woman. DARKENED NOCTURN SLAUGHTERCULT is insane live, just brutal. I saw them on the Brutal Assault festival ( two years ago ) and that was probably the best show I had seen on that fest (along Mgla and Archgoat). And Onielar was also great on the last Bethlehem record, I really liked that album.

If someone said to me, "Give to me your ALL TIME" Black Metal USA tour...First I would leave off COF and Immortal because it would be a themed tour. The tour would be like a 1991 Clash of the Titans (USA) tour with 3 bands getting 60-70 minutes each and one opener band. The opener would by THORNSPAWN rom San Antonio, TX and the three head line would be WATAIN and Marduk alternating final spot and then DNS comes on after Thornspawn as the first head liner. OMG I would have conniptions...t be Make Black Metal Great Again Tour. LOL...joking.
