Love your channel. I'm from Uganda. Your breakdowns have made me enjoy Afrobeat even more. By any chance could you also do Fela Kuti's songs (Water no get enemy and Zombie to name a few)

Yes! I’ve been waiting for a break down of the new album! Thank you! Special request pleaseeee- ‘ototo’ from the 1st album, that song feels deeper and spiritual i can’t find a break down anywhere. I at least need to know what the chorus means

Ototo is my favorite song on that album. But it came out before I started this channel so didn’t have time to do all Quick breakdown on the chorus: Ototo ṣha la w’aye sha - We all came to this world differently (We all have different destinies and have a purpose to fulfill) Carry your own I no get stamina - So therefore, face your problems. I don’t have the stamina. (I have problems of my own too. I don’t have the power to always be dealing with both your issues and mine. This is likely for someone who is repeatedly a burden on someone else) E jo ma f’ejo pa mi nau - Please don’t talk me to death. (Ejo is bad negative talk. In this song I understand it as the person is making excuses repeatedly over and over) Omo’logo no go relent - as a glorious child, I cant relent and lose focus on my purpose. (If I don’t stand firm and focus, people will walk over me and it can cost me my destiny) Hope this helps! Hopefully one day I can break it down in full.

@@simbihawt oh my days yes, thank you so much! That’s amazing! I was singing and interpreting it as, “You’re not my twin. I came to this life by myself and I will leave myself” Meaning - Carry your own burdens and be self reliant. Seperate yourself from having someone by your side through life’s experiences. Stand strong on your own. Love that it’s your favourite song, it’s not the most popular but I could feel the essence of it. It has you singing the meaning and not the song. If you ever do videos on older catalogues, Pallazo is one that feels so positive, uplifting but I’m not sure I fully understand. But from what I think I understand I love the way he’s talking to himself “the glorious child, you won’t go broke, you won’t fail” it’s like an affirmation

Ototo - Wait, that’s good. Seems like you took it from the perspective of someone receiving the advice whereas I took it from the perspective of someone giving the advice. We said similar things so you got it 🙂 Pallazo - Yes. He’s giving affirmations, flexing about his lifestyle, all of that lol

@@simbihawt love your breakdowns so much. It’s helps me enjoy the tune even more. And I’m seeing a lot of the Afrobeat artist this year at concerts and festivals so it makes the experience better
