Somaliland is not any different than Eritrea which was handed over to Ethiopia. The international community is responsible for all the chaos in Italian Somalia which arms different Somali groups through Ethiopia for the last 30 years. International community pays 20,000 African Union troops in Somalia in order to protect their embassies and their interests. The African Union troops were never meant to defeat Al-shabaab now it's in occupation Force. Everybody knows somalis will never accept any Force from NATO instead they decided to use African troops. Al-shabaaba was also the creation of the United States when they paid warlords to arrest Islamic scholars in 2006 just the way the United States funded the mujahideen in the 1970s which then turn into Taliban in '90s. As long as the international community can maintain chaos Italian Somalia there will not be any genuine conversation between Somaliland and Somalia.

I don't know everything... but 1 thing I do know is that I've never seen Somalis be disrespectful to Somaliland in comments, maybe a reply to a comment. But everytime ive seen Somaliland make comments about Somalia they are very rude and disrespectful. I guess Somalia vs Somaliland is the new India vs Pakistan. 😂 except of course the Somalis aren't fighting eachother becasue they're different religions. Honestly, I think they should just go ahead and split up. From Somalia point of view, why would you ever want to unify with a group of people that talk behind your back, disrespect your country and flag, would never help you if it came down to it, and would likely do something to destabilize and destroy what peace you might have in the future, because they weren't given independence. If they feel like that, why would you want them to be a part of your future, if they don't want to. Chances are they will one day start something else to spark another conflict. When they do inevitably start a conflict, and the central government goes to stamp out the conflict, the government then looks bad and we have another civil war.

you are misinforming your audience it is wrong that Ethiopia was part of Italian East Africa, a 7000 Italian soldiers' graveyard is in northern Ethiopia when Italians tried to invade Abyssinia, they were defeated multiple times including the 1887 war at Saati between Tigray Alula forces and Italian army and later in Adwa between Italians and Ethiopian Army, It is believed more than 14000 Italians were died in multiple fronts in Northern Ethiopia and Eritrea land

Thanks for the video but few corrections: 1. The union of two states was unitary! NO Somaliland autonomy. 2. Somaliland was never independent country! Yes despite being offered & even few nations recognizing it as a country Somaliland had NO intention and actually refused to become a separate country insisting that one Somalia will come out of these two colonized Somali regions. That's why Somaliland had no flag, (flag of Somali Republic🇸🇴 was first raised in Hargeisa on June 26th 1960) no president, and never declared independence. 2. There's NO "northern Somali culture" Somalis are one homogeneous ethnic group only difference being clans. 3. Though there was a revolt by few army officers in the north, the union of two states had little to no issues of incompatibility except northern clans not being given enough top positions in the republic. This can be proven easily by looking at the progress Somalia as a whole made for 20 years since independence & unity! The first armed rebels to oppose central government were NOT northerners but SSDF mostly a Majerteen clan militia from the northeastern & central part of Somalia. CONCLUSION: Your video is surprisingly mostly factional, more so than most KZbin videos about Somaliland& still have a lot of misinformation! Most videos on KZbin about Somaliland are made in the encouragement of the proponents of Somaliland secession having these KZbinrs fed with one sided information about this region. Calling Somaliland a country is also misleading! Somali Republic collapsed over 3 decades ago, Somalis separated in clan lands (Somaliland as mostly Isaaq-land, Puntland as mostly Majerteen-land, Hirshabelle & Galmudug and Benadir as mostly Hawiye-land, Southwest as mostly Rahanweyne-land and Jubbaland as mostly Ogaden-land) Since central government collapsed in 1991 Some of these regions had their own administrations for decades as Somaliland did, good example is Puntland who ran autonomous government on its own since 1998, but never declared independence. BOTTOM LINE: just because you're able to control part of a country, have flag, army and called yourself a country doesn't mean you're one! As you correctly eluded being once independent does not give you right to "reclaim it at will" Though Somaliland being once independent country is not entirely true, Texas was once independent country for 10 years. Texas has no right to simply reclaim it's once independence, in fact it has no more right to secede than any other state! Germany and Yemen can't just undo their respective union by one side unilaterally leaving.
