Jah know. I miss those years. NO more, never again. I pray and wish for them to come back. This posting made me cry. What happened to our country? The world. Thanks for posting the bitter sweet memories. Thanks KZbin for the opportunity to be able to look back. Sweet sweet Jamaica.. forever ☮️

JBC, aka, ThevJamaica Broadcasting Station, was an integral part if my life, growing up in Jamaica...Tony Patel, Pat Lazarus, Erica Allen and Charles Lewin were ace broadcasters, who, were better than the current cadre of broadcasters...Likewise, the ads were unforgettable, charming and first class, and a cut above today's offerings...Because of the sign on and sign off times, one didn't take watching tv for granted, unlike today, due to round-the-clock broadcasting on numerous cable tv channels...Last, JBC should have retained its iconic name, and, while TVJ, aka, Television Jamaica, has become a household name, JBC was in a class and category all of its own, and the sentimental attachment my generation of Jamaicans have and will, always, have, for JBC, will never change...Thanks for this video!

Interesting stuff! I'm from the U.S., but I love watching old commercials and international commercials are a fascinating look at life elsewhere in the world. So Jamaicans really drink Red Stripe? I would have thought it was like Foster's in Australia; hyped for an export market with very stereotypical commercials about its country of origin but generally snubbed by the people who actually live there.
@Winsome-n4i Жыл бұрын
No way! Red Stripe was and still is JAMAICANS’ beer before anywhere else’s!

I heard that a lot of these commercials and other historical recordings of these days have been destroyed! Because of a lack of interest and absence of leadership being displayed by the present TV Station. They were left outside for the elements to destroy them!!
