As a potential juror, at the moment, I don't believe anything this guy says. He's acting like this is a police interrogation instead of trying to prove his case. If I were part of this jury, he would have A HUGE uphill battle from here on out.
@matthewdekker60646 сағат бұрын
This guy makes Jen McCabe look like a very honest, straightforward, open person. At one point on direct, the dude said he's left-handed. Then later on cross, said he's right-handed. Perhaps he was just misspeaking, but it seems like he's willing to lie about pretty much anything, regardless of whether it makes him look bad or not. He just seems like a habitual liar. I don't think he legitimately found those shell casings at the scene, in which case, I think it might be true that Rocky's gun was just a prop gun. His knuckle injuries pretty clearly didn't come from a bullet grazing them - I'd like to see a ballistics person come in and show how it might be possible to get those specific injuries from a bullet. Also, if the jury is anything like me, I think they probably don't believe that the guy "doesn't understand" most of these questions - he's just acting like that so he doesn't have to give a straight answer, which just makes it look like a straight answer would hurt his case, so he's just not being truthful in general. Tacopina should've hit him much harder on those phone recordings and shown some evidence that they're real (like maybe compare the timestamps to his actual phone records or something). And the judge seemed to miss the fact that Relli completely lied about handling a gun prior to getting his license. He seemed to believe Relli when Relli said that he had only used guns at a range - but IIRC, Relli never made that claim initially, he just pretended like he had said it after getting caught in the lie (edit: Tacopina brought it up after I made this comment). His testimony today was similarly ridiculous. I thought he was about to hop off the stand and walk out of the courtroom because he couldn't handle it. It's pretty smart of him to play the "dummy" card though, and just act like he understands none of the questions, remembers none of the dates, etc., and then even when he does give a specific answer and then gets called out on it, he just says it was so long ago and that's why his answer was wrong. Hopefully the jury sees right through that. Though the prosecutor made a good point that Relli was going around telling everyone that there were 4-5 shots, when there were actually only 2 and he only found 2 shell casings at the scene. He easily could've planted 4 or 5 shell casings if he wanted to, so I think that's a point in his favor. It could probably still be explained a different way though, so I'm not 100% on it.

The holes in this case are so bad that I'm not sure how we ever get past Reasonable Doubt personally. Even Relli's injury didn't look at all consistent with his story. There's just no way you get that pattern of grazes from a bullet. What it does look are the wounds of somebody who either scraped their knuckles against something, or hit something hard.
