ASC I-Force 800 Siren Test - LaPorte County, IN - 5/4/19

So here it is: the rather infamous low mounted I-Force 800 in Michigan City. This is the most recent addition to the arsenal of sirens in Washington Park, born out of a yuppie upscale restaurant's desire of an unobstructed view of Lake Michigan. Stay tuned to the end for some bonus drone footage plus some excerpts from the PDF document explaining this ridiculous installation. The whole thing was not cheap, as the controls are located roughly 100 yards away from the actual siren and the conduit for the wiring had to be bored underneath the parking lot. The E-Class and 2001 are audible throughout the video as well. And yes, that's downtown Chicago in the background.

I’m not sure but it’s probably about 110 or 120 decibels or probably about 130 decibels loud of where that Chevy traverse is at. So probably about 110 decibels from a 100 feet away

It was a misprint in the PDF. They meant to say 3600 watts. The control pole is visible at 9:58. It’s directly in line with the I-Force, past the black truck next to the harbor. Controls, two radios (one for the county and one for the coast guard) and a remote microphone all mounted on a 6’ tall wood pole.

I see. One of the best typos ever in my opinion. So then is the E-Class also tied in with the Coast Guard PA system? I would think that would make some sense. With all the crazy crap going on in LaPorte, i’d want to set an old camera or something at that 1212. It seems like it’s sitting in a pretty decent coverage gap and with all the ASC stuff on it, they might’ve resurrected it again.

@@niks_crazy_world The E-Class/I-Force IS the PA system. CG can activate them via radio or use the local microphone mounted on each siren. The 1212 was indirectly replaced by the T-128 about 3/4 mile southwest of it. It sadly isn't getting turned back on.

I was hoping for an HD re-recording of it, guess not. Where exactly is that T-128? It can't be Mill Creek's.
