just got into climbing recently and i'm pretty novice at it, but, i always aspired to be taking really scenic shots as i'm a professional photographer. This video has gave me great insight of what setup and techniques i should use when i get more comfortable around ropes and rock walls! ;) Thanks!!

Hi Jez Great vid! As an aspiring MCI I like all the up to date bits and bobs about these skills and kit used. Is there any chance you could zoom in slightly in your videos though? some of the smaller details are hard to see in a wide angle. cheers 🤙

Hi Jez, I found your channel a few days ago and am loving it. Already watched hours worth of material! I am having trouble picturing the idea of re-belaying once you’re over the edge of the crag. How would you tie the rope when it’s under load? Thanks.

Glad you're enjoying it! You cant. You need to unweight the rope either by being on a ledge or clipping in to your re-belay gear, normally with a lanyard :)

JB Mountain Skills OK thanks. Pretty obvious really. I thought you’d found a way to break the laws of physics.

That's a really good shout on the Petzl Rig Jez. I've been using a good ole Grigri to go up and down. I'll try the re-belay too. Keep up the great vids.

What are your thoughts on using just a Grigri to self-belay while climbing? Even with regular overhands as a back up, is this safe?

It is something I do occasionally, in the right circumstance, just remember though, it is outside the manufacturers guidelines, so it's not something I recommend.
