Not many people have really talked about this game. I’ve played it both solo and competitive and this game works great both ways. If you like deck-builders, you’re going to love this! The construct mechanism is so much fun! Welcome to my channel! SBGK

I really like this game, I bought the kickstarter version on a whim and it ended up being one of my favorite games played this year. And I agree the solo mode is really nicely set up, I love how easy it is to use.

I didn’t know much about this game but the cover interested me while visiting my local game shop. If I would’ve heard about this game sooner, I would’ve wanted to get the miniatures. This is a great game both competitively and solo. The constructs are so much fun to use!

Great video! Do you compare this game to LOTR LCG? Seems you would prefer AT, but curious to see the fun factor. Also, not sure if you have seen Primal the awakening. Any thoughts on that one vs AT? There will be an upcoming crowdfunding campaign for more AT content!

Unfortunately, I have not played Primal the Awakening so I can’t compare the two. AT is also very different from LotR LCG (although I have made a comparison of LotR vs MC). I would compare it more to Marvel Legendary but with more mechanics, area control and tactics thrown into the mix. I’ve heard of the upcoming content for AT. Actually, a subscriber of my channel informed me that a quote from my review of the core game was used in the website for the crowdfunding campaign. However, I have no affiliation or sponsorship with the creators of AT. AT is very well done and mixes tactics with deck-building in an intuitive and addicting way. It will remain a part of my collection for a very long time. Actually, I don’t see it going anywhere. I can’t speak for the upcoming content but even if it’s more of the same, I think it will be worth it just for the variety it will add to the core game. With that written, the core box already had a lot of content in the box. Hope this helped!

Quick question: do you think it's worth buying the Kickstarter version with the miniatures instead of the standees? And in the campaign, are they truly solo or do you need to house rule the campaign to make it work solo?

There is a solo campaign and it works really well. You can also solo some one-off games, as well. I didn’t get the miniatures version when I bought the first Ascension Tactics and I did regret it. They’re not needed to enjoy the game but I prefer playing with miniatures.

@@SoloBoardGamingKnight I've heard some people say it's better with miniatures and others say they are too large. Personal preference maybe? I love miniatures even though I never paint them. Unsteady hands. But you think this is definitely worth solo only and the replayability is there?

@@joefell5311 I have very unsteady hands, too. I have, however, been slowly painting my Imperial Assault miniatures. As far as replayability for Ascension Tactics, this is one game that I would recommend as a solo game, however, I would STRONGLY recommend it if you are able to play it versus, as well. The solo is fun but overall, it is much more replayable if you have someone to play against. On that note, it is a great player vs. player game.

@@SoloBoardGamingKnight well, you've convinced me. I was watching the only Kickstarter I could find and just bought it. Probably paid way more than I should have. Unfortunately it will only ever get played solo. So hopefully I made a good choice. Thanks for your help.
