WOW! This is incredible! So much polish... To think that this is a private server and it looks so good... And all of its custom features look slick, just like they came from blizzard... WOOOOOW! I am shocked how a private server with less funding, fewer people, smaller playerbase and without new zones being developed from a huge design team is able to produce this result!!! WOW! I honestly hope we see a mere 5% of this in retail in the upcoming years.. The game needs passionate people - both on stage and behind it... If someone working for Ascension is reading this - YOU ARE AWESOME! And I'm saying this, without even having spent a minute playing in it.. My mind is blown away. Currently, I'm at a point in my life, where I can't play (even retail), but as sson as my life situation gets under control in the upcoming years I'm definitely trying out Ascension! @@TiPeteux just understanding everything. I didn't realize mythic/legendary enchants were the core of Ascension. Prestiging is also a large part of Ascension as it gives you new opportunities to make a better build and get rewards. You learn it over time, but it's not apparent right at the start.

Great updates! I've already sent it to my friends to come and join Ascension! My only problem is with these, you are heading to the same direction as retail. By adding way to brainlessly walk around and spam quests and fly point to point you take the joy out from the game moth people joined for back in the days. I know 99% of the community are veterans in wow, but if you'd like to have new players coming it, design an experience that catches players. You could also implement some features for new players to feel the immersion of the world. Also please don't forget that difficulty makes games more rewarding. New players need community (not LF MS spamming in chat), a good adventure and fun. As for new players, i think these featues would help them a lot (only to very new players): 1. I think if they would remove ascension chat by default and enable it at lvl 20 or 30 for instance, it wont make your chat so bad when you join 2. Maybe you could mark new players (like driving school students) so people will be more helpful towards them 3.On elune, it would be nice if they could choose their very first spell on fresh character. Two of my friends quit there because they had no idea what was happening and what they got. I think if youd choose your attribute first then based on that youd get to choose from 4-5 starting spells based on that, it would help them a lot. 4. If you could implement number 1 then maybe it would be useful to have AN ACTUAL NEWCOMER CHAT, where mentors would be in and seperate new to wow and new to ascension players. I know this is not an option right now in general in wow, but would be nice. Right now newcomer chat has nothing to do with newcomers in general (based on what i see). Ofc this would make it include less players but more actual answer and genuine help. You are doing fantastic though! Keep it up! :)

I haven't played WoW super actively since MoP and I was getting bored fast. I tried all the expansions a lil bit but the game started declining in Cata. WotLK was the last GOOOOD expansion. I tried Ascension for first time last week and this is the most fun I've had in 10 years with WoW. I started playing 16 1/2 years ago a month after my kid was born so it's easy to remember when haha.

Since Elune is Wildcard, starting as a pre-designed archetype is counter to the game mode. HOWEVER: you WILL be able to put Archetype builds into Rapid Rolling to search for abilities you need to play the build! This will help you build archetypes.

All around great changes, I do have a few questions, though. 1. When do you get instructed to go to the Compendium? 2. When you mentioned flight masters at the starting zones going to the next town, there's a few places like Sen'jin Village that have quests as well. Are they included? (By this I mean do they have a Flight path that would, for example, connect to razor hill in my example.) 3. Will we be able to filter mentors based on the language the mentor speaks? Not all mentors speak English, or the language a new player speaks, will this be a feature? 4. A lot of players dungeon grind, I think that a new player dungeon that brings Mentors in would be a good idea that brings those two parts of the community together. Are there plans for this in the future? 5. Will there be a "Difficulty" indicator for each of the preselected builds at character creation?

Great questions: 1. The Compendium pops up at level 5, drawing your attention to it 2. The flight path isn't an official one, so you can't go to places like Sen'jen. Instead it takes you to the next big quest hub like Goldshire, Razor Hill, or Brill. One of the things that analysis revealed was a LOT of new players getting lost and quitting once they finished quests and never making it to the next zone. This helps get you straight to your next place to quest. 3. This is a great idea. An option like this isn't in yet, but is worth trying to make happen. 4. No plans for something like this at the moment 5. This is another good idea and is worth trying to make happen.

I tried out project ascension when my youtube was plastered with ads for it a while back, i found a healing ranger build i really liked in the build viewer thing, but it never felt difficult like vanilla leveling can be, i just kind of blasted through stuff solo and dungeon groups felt too much like retail with people mass pulling the entire dungeon. I know theres optional difficulties but they just didnt seem like theyd do what i wanted. i think CoA has promise after a friend bought me access but the difficulty is also a bit too easy and things were changing a lot (understandable for an alpha). power fantasy is cool but one shotting mobs without using my full rotation and dungeons being a /follow snoozefest is why i left retail.

My only gripe is not being able to select what gpu the game is rendered on . for instance . on my alienware laptop it will ONLY run the game on the IGPU thus making it a bit laggy . now on my desktop its fine as i have no IGPU

Wonderful update. I have some questions. Would you guys add the customizations from retail WoW into this game? Also, will you add the new races from retail into this game? I personally want to play a dracthyr druid or a druid that can shapeshift into a dragon. A cosmetic would be nice, but i would want to customize it. When i was playing i would be a moonkin with dragon pets (i have the fae skin). Same with bear druid i had a wolf pet. I felt like a leader of a pack. I wish accension had the two pets talent like in retail. Anyways this update looks good, cant wait to come back.

Hey Gatomaru! On the "Free Pick" server, Area 52, you can choose any abilities and talents you want. That means you could make a shaman that can tank!

First time hearing about Ascension. I would never play this because I have the normal game, and I don't know if it's an actual thing going to Northshire and seeing all those players with epic weapons, metamorphosis forms, weird NPCs that stand out (like the dwarf on his pedestal) and spamming the level-up effect. Feels wrong. BUT fair is fair, the Compendium UI looks dope and it's a shame Blizzard doesn't have something similar. Similarly, WoW's tutorial zones outside of Exile's Reach suck and new players constantly get confused as to where to go once they reach Orgrimmar/Stormwind, because you still have all the intro quests of previous expansions available... So I guess, good on you if your NPE is better.

I quit Ascension for two reasons, I was doing a mage gnome and specing into what ever. Got the druid ablity that teleported to the nigh elf place and I didn't know how to telport back. The second is that I didn't much time to game so rebuilding would take a bit of work. And so I have plain to start again when I have more time.

If you want an interesting way to play, you can try a trial! But you can always level up to cap once to get the swing of things, then Prestige to try Hardcore Trials.

Hiding builds isn’t for people to withhold information that could benefit others to enjoy the game, it was used to prevent elitist from harassing other players because they are performing at a 97% efficiency instead of a 100% efficiency, and not be able to clear the content 5 minutes faster. Want help with builds, then the forums is the place to go.

Okay I've been fascinated by WOW for years but was one of those players that quit before level 3. I'm sold but... 1. I really want to play a healer but I keep seeing/being told that healer sucks and I'm gonna die left and right cause it's open PVP (is this true, i.e. healer is bad and I have to risk PVP all the time?). Can I just run around healing people? Is PVP unavoidable? 2. I saw the starcaller video. When will that launch please?

Hey! Good questions, here are the answers: 1. Healer's don't suck lol. They are absolutely necessary. No, you won't die in PvP if you don't want to. Ascension is a Hybrid PvP realm: you can be either PvP or PvE, and can swap at any time in cities. If you choose to go into PvE, no players can attack you EVER and you are free to enjoy the game at your pace. PvP on Ascension is completely optional. 2. The Starcaller is a different realm called Conquest of Azeroth. The Open Beta is live right now, so you can play it. The game will be free to play when it launches in 2025! Hope this answers your questions!!!

There probably is nothing. The whole reason official servers for vanilla because a thing was after one or two huge private servers were legally taken down. There was a petition and that's why we have official. So really who knows when they will go after this one now that it's getting so big.
