Please Father Mike make a video on friendship as I am struggling so hard please help me with a video thank you
@weirddude62604 жыл бұрын
I'm a Catholic who's struggled with gender dysphoria since I was a kid. I actually think this video is fantastic and totally on point. I never transitioned, and it is incredibly hard, but it really did get better for me as I strove to be a healthier person, supported by friends who both affirmed me as a male, and also affirmed that my differences are good and lovable as well. That did take many years and I'm still healing. I have friends who transitioned, and while they experienced satisfaction from their transition, I honestly feel I ended up in a much happier, healthier place. So yes, people experiencing gender dysphoria do need a TON of love and support, and it's a difficult path, but as someone who's experienced this, Father Mike is totally correct.

God bless you! I’m also struggling with dysphoria and have decided not to transition. Thank you for sharing. I really needed to know that I’m not alone.
@guthriesavagefriedman354 жыл бұрын
@@NobodyxImportant it's extremely uplifting to see these comments. Things like same sex attraction and gender dysphoria are extremely difficult crosses to bear and imo those who stick the faith with these conditions are modern day saints. It always brightens my day to see SSA or gender-dysphoric Catholics carrying their cross even when society will tell you how "liberating" it is to drop your struggles towards holiness like ballast. As Teresa of Avila says “In light of heaven, the worst suffering on earth will be seen to be no more serious than one night in an inconvenient hotel.” God bless and Mary keep you both.
@NobodyxImportant4 жыл бұрын
Guthrie Savage Friedman I desperately needed that encouragement right now. Thank you very much for edifying me instead of judging me like many on both sides of the issue do. It’s so much harder than people realize to accept yourself as the gender you’re born as for people with gender dysphoria. We can’t just “not think about it.” It’s a constant temptation to want to be who you think you are. The thought cycles never fail to reach the endpoint of “you’re not a man, you never were, and you never will be.” The curse is that it doesn’t truly end there... that’s just where that episode ends. It’s a daily struggle over something others deem arbitrary. Most like me want to be free, but we don’t want to give into it to feel that freedom. I believe Jesus can heal me. I honestly can’t fathom just how sweet the relief will be to feel like I belong inside my earthly vessel; and if it doesn’t happen in this lifetime, I’ll be blessed eternally in heaven for running the race and fighting the good fight. That’s why I fight it. He who is inside of me is greater than the one in the world. I’m so grateful to have Godly thoughts to counteract the intrusive ones, and I’m grateful to know that there are people like you who love us, the people who struggle with the issue, and still accept us as part of God’s family. ❤️ Thank you.
@NobodyxImportant4 жыл бұрын
Guthrie Savage Friedman You made my day, btw. Sorry for such a long reply!
@weirddude62604 жыл бұрын
@@NobodyxImportant I'm really thankful that was some encouragement! And I'd suggest not just asking God to heal you, but just to sit and be close to God and let Him comfort you as you share. And it's even ok to tell God things like "I'm really hating my body today because..." and then let God comfort you. Honestly, I have intense gender dysphoria about every six months, and sometimes I just sit with God and cry. It used to be that bad every two days, so it has gotten better. And I totally get the thought patterns you mentioned. In my case, getting affirmations from friends that I could be male but express myself in different ways really helped. So rather than thinking those thoughts of being the wrong sex, they get replaced with thoughts of "I really am male, just a different kind of male, and people can love me and like me being a different kind of male. That is who God made me, and it's ok." I'll pray for you!

As a non-theist this was an amazing argument. Everything was calm and civil and extremely logical. I can now truly appreciate the catholic view on this issue Coming back to this years later just to say that just because I can appreciate the viewpoint and say it was a good argument doesn't mean it's necessarily a correct one, which I think is something a lot of people who responded to this are missing. This guy is still not an intelligent person who you should use to base any of your opinions off of (feel free to go through his other videos) and in all honestly comparing someone that feels like they are transgender to a boy who feels like a dog is a massively degrading thing in hindsight. What this comment was more so saying was that it's nice to see the ideas expressed in a calm rational manner rather than the "oH mY gOsH tHeY wAnT tO uSe ThE sAmE bAtHrOoM aS mE eWwWwW" manner that we see 99% of the time this is argued about. Now I'm also not saying that the transgendered community/supporters have the 100% right of everything either, but we all just need to remember that everyone is human and we should treat everyone with respect. If you want people to respect your personal beliefs you also have to respect theirs

Chris being called the queen of England and wanting others to believe that you truly are the queen is totally different because that's a title that makes a difference in who you are. On the other hand, the name and pronouns given to me at birth (Mary/she/her) added nothing to who I am. The name and pronouns I chose to be called (Jake/he/him) add nothing to who I am. The most they'll do to change me or change what I can do is that they'll make me a bit happier when people use them. It's no different from a nickname. If someone's name assigned at birth is Jonathan and they choose to be called John, that's not a sin and it doesn't change who that person is. How is that different from me being assigned the name Mary and choosing to be called Jake?

OK, let me be completely honest, I was very skeptical and prepared to be offended when I saw a religion man talking about LGBT, but after watching this video I think he has got a point. I think it's good that we are liberal but there is a point to which our liberalism actually hurts the youth... I guess we as a society are again at the point where we need to get back to the men of faith and hear their point of view. No matter what religion you are this guy has a good point. Thank you!

Very well said and I agree with you. It is okay to let people be free and live their own lives, but we have to be careful about what we accept and what we encourage. If someone told me that they feel like a Ken doll and want to chop off their genitals to match their self identity, I would tell them that they need to seek help. There is a lot of nuance in the conversation of transgenderism and it’s unfortunate that we’re cancelled and called bigots as soon as we question the ideology.

Ideology has replaced religion for many people on the left, and it is inherently destructive to society. Ideology has no foundation and it’s changeable. Religion is a human pattern that must exist. We get rid of it at our peril as we tear each other apart because we care more about “my truth” than “the truth”.

@@s.johnson5154 the term moralistic-therapeutic deism comes from a book, Soul Searching by Christian Smith and Melinda Lundquist Denton. Keep watching his stuff, you'll find your ontological meaning. Look at the biological teleology and epistemology and don't cling to belief perseverance. Astrophysics, probabilistic causation, cosmology, specified complexity in evolution, genetic coding, and cosmogony all point to a theistic God (as opposed to a deistic entity as found in Spinozism). I was once where you are. I get it. The differentiation between faith and the mind-body problem can cause mental chaos. But there is a commensurability between every part of science (from evolutionary theory to genetics to quantum entanglement) and philosophy. The God of Abraham exists. He will wait patiently for you with open arms. The historically proven figure of Jesus of Nazareth, as you'll one day find out, is the Lord's Son. The perichoresis is a truth which will give you a peace that no amount of Jungian psychology can explain. Bless you, friend.

Does anyone stop to think that, "Maybe this is my cross to bear?" We all have crosses to bear. I have experienced gender dysphoria and nearly transitioned, but then I acknowledged this is my cross to bear and I turned it over to God. I'm not going to permanently alter the body God gave me because of a feeling no matter how deep it is. With God's help I will be okay.

I really don't understand your reasoning. I am trans and I transitioned. Being trans is still a cross I have to bear, because being trans and transitioning in our hateful society is hard and there is a lot of discrimination against trans people. It is still one of the best if not the best thing I've done in my life. I am truly happy and I know that God made me this way and that he wanted me to live my life as the man he created me to be.
@motleyminded853 жыл бұрын
@@SemmelOff With all due respect, if He wanted you to live your life as a man, He would've given you the body of a man. Scripture says our bodies are not our own, but a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are not to cut or mutilate them. You may feel gratification through transitioning, but that doesn't mean it's God's will. Many humans have compulsions and proclivities towards sins, and people may feel happy when they engage in that sin, but that doesn't mean it's good. It is our cross to bear, a trial to suffer through and conquer through demonstrating our faith. It is better to serve God in all things rather than do what makes US feel better about ourselves. You put yourself and your body before God. You risk throwing away eternity for a temporary vessel. That's the unfortunate truth. I will pray for you.

I was born male, unfortunately. I’ve hated it all my life. I have ALLOT of self hatred and depression. And part of that is knowing I’ll never be a real woman. Yet I don’t know how to be a man because I HATE anything masculine. I still look forward to not being here one day so I can be free of this body. So far I’m stuck here in misery. Not a day goes by where I wish I was born a normal man or woman. I don’t wish gender dysphoria on anyone! It is something terrible to be stuck with. I’ve often asked God and Jesus why was I was allowed to be born this way, when I could’ve just been a miscarriage or an abortion, of course no answer from them. I asked to let me know in a dream so I can at least have answers. Again NOTHING. I’m just waiting to be released from here sooner than later.

My I ask do you view your soul as female? Or do merely wish your physical body as different than you feel it should be to the point of mental/physical pain. It seems when people describe their gender identity, it seems they are describing their soul/spirit or at least some other immatural substance. I am not sure if a soul can be called truelly male or female, but the body is at it is.
@yessikaramirez60662 жыл бұрын
@@robertcraigashby9836 Funny you asked that because that’s crossed my mind. I am Christian and believe in reincarnation. I often asked Jesus and God if I was ever female in a past life? Or if I harmed women in a past life and I’m paying in this lifetime for it? I wish I had more answers for the both of us. What I do know is that this is not a choice, that our brains are wired to resemble that of a cis-woman. I also found out that I had a big hormone imbalance. To go on hormones they draw your blood to test the hormone levels. My Dr sat me down and went over some shocking results! Apparently I had very low testosterone for a “male” and higher than normal estrogen level for a “male” they wouldn’t say that was the cause of my gender dysphoria but it could be one of many other reason. And this was true because when I went on hormone I was told I didn’t even need to take the hormone blocker spironolactone.

Ellen Venezia If you knew much at all about treatment to alleviate gender dysphoria, hormone therapy is very often used. Most if not all trans people who experience gender dysphoria as a response to their physical anatomy will receive oestrogen or testosterone regardless of whether or not they intend to have gender reassignment surgery. Hormones alone are not usually enough to alter the physiology of a person to the extent that they feel that it aligns with their conception of themselves.
