@@natanaellizama6559 not heresy in the least. Christ laid down many conditions for entering the kingdom. Doesn't mean he loves less, just that part of "knowing" Our Lord is following what he teaches ... doing the Father's will, repenting from sin, being prepared for his coming, etc. He's very clear in Scripture on this. And in Scripture he never says "I do not love you" but he does offer conditions in which he will say, "I do not know you." (parable of the ten virgins, parable of the wedding feast) ... He makes us free to condition our response (our relationship) to his unconditional love.

Because the gate is wide - and the way is broad - that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in through it. 14“Because the gate is narrow and the way is hard pressed which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

That is why the world thinks you can get into heaven by “being good.” Here’s what the Catholic Church doesn’t want you to know: Many Catholics & Protestants are guilty of doing the same thing. Anyone who is attempting to get into heaven by ANY MEANS other than by FAITH IN CHRIST, will not be counted righteous. So if you believe your righteousness is by faith in Christ AND baptism AND Eucharist AND good works you are not putting all of your faith in the work of Christ. You’re declaring what Christ did was not enough, but requires your help. “But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith.” - Philippians 3:7-9 93% of the world is religious. The biggest religion of all is Christianity. 57% of Christians are Catholic. Does that sound like a narrow road to you? I am NOT saying don’t get baptized, don’t take communion, don’t do anything good. What I am saying is these things DO NOT MAKE YOU RIGHTEOUS. Real faith is letting go of your works & allowing Christ alone to be your righteousness.

Catholics venerate Mary because she is Jesus's Mom, He loved her and gave her special graces which we appreciate and ask (pray) to her for help. She caused Jesus' first miracle, all she had to say was "Listen to Him". That's all she has ever said, and we ask her to go to her son, and help us. She has special ability, and the prayers of a righteous person have special powers with God. @@joepickett7084 I'm sorry Joe, but you just negated your response when you said a statue puts a picture of the one you are praying TO (emphasis added) ... That is the very definition of idol worship - praying to one other than the triune God. I trust that is not really what you meant to say. One other point, any religion that puts a 'formula' to salvation is not the same as the traditional mainline protestant denominations. Fortunately, this very good Catholic apologist gave the Churches' true position when he said the "Bible and the Church" teaches. It seems the Catholic Church teaches works man must do for salvation (baptism, Eucharist, etc.) The Bible doesn't teach this - it teaches faith alone. That is the difference between Catholicism and Protestantism. What I struggle with though is by their actions and what I know about narcissists, is the odds of them changing are slim but I know God wants them in Heaven. I pray for them because I know it hurts our God to not have His children with Him in paradise, but it’s hard to have faith/hope they will make it to heaven. It wasn’t until the end of the video that I felt Father Mike was talking directly to me, or perhaps the Holy Spirit trying to say something to me through him. That I need to focus on my journey. Thank you, my brother for your gentle, truthful ministry on KZbin, and for this teaching. As a lover of truth, I must humble say that baptism and receiving communion are NOT necessary to go go heaven, simply because Jesus did not tell the good thief on the cross to receive either communion or be baptized, but rather when the good their realized he was a sinner, and Who Jesus was, Jesus told him, "This day thou shall be with me in paradise. Thank you, and blessings upon you.

Don’t give up..give life another chance. I did years ago and I’m glad I did! When I transitioned from agnostic to Christian, I asked myself these things: The first place to start would be to ask did Jesus exist? Yes, there are non Christian and Christian sources to suggest so. There is Josephus flavius who wrote about Jesus in the first century. Did Jesus die on the cross? Yes, the historical consensus confirms this according to scholars. It was 33-36 ad. When people follow God, we are not following blindly but we are following Him based on the evidence that we can access today such as the example I just said. Of course the faith is not just about evidence and there are other aspects too but it is good to get ground before exploring further. Now that we know He exists, what about His divinity? Is He who He said He is? One example is to look at scientific carbon dating. Yes, science helps a little. Jesus was historically born 1AD approx. according to scholars. There is a short passage in the bible you should read which was written in the 5th century bc respectively. This passage is part of the book of Isaiah. Scholars found a scroll in the Middle East which is the great Isaiah scroll. This is not the original isaiah scroll but it is in amazing condition and all the chapters are in tact. It is in Israel today in a museum. This particular scroll according to carbon dating and palaeography this scroll dates back 100 or 200 years before Jesus was born and has prophecies about Him. One prophecy in Isaiah describes His crucifixion and nature: Isaiah 53:5 53 Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? 2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. 3 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. 4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. 8 By oppression[a] and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished.[b] 9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes[c] his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand. 11 After he has suffered, he will see the light of life[d] and be satisfied[e]; by his knowledge[f] my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,[g] and he will divide the spoils with the strong,[h] because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Hey dude, all you must do to be saved is to repent, put your faith in jesus christ, and make him lord. This means you truly want to completely and totally turn away from sin because once your are saved christ takes your sin and it is nailed on the christ with him, however, it says that since we are now relieved of the burden of sin there is no point to go back to our sinful ways. We must follow christ in our day to day lives and read our bible to strengthen our relationship with God and draw closer to him.

Great talk, as always. Sometimes I struggle with the idea that we are brought into existence (not by our choosing), born with the stain of original sin with a propensity to do evil, and that we live a finite life in which our eternal salvation hangs in the balance, acknowledging we are given the graces necessary for salvation, yet also recognizing that the likelihood for us to live a good life is very slim (since most choose the wide, easy path). It is difficult for me to reconcile how God, who knows the future, could bring so many people into existence (allowing for free will) but ultimately knowing that it would be better for people to have never been born, than to choose the wide path, which most people do.

Because Christianity is one narrow low resolution of the cosmic truth watered down and repackage for mass consumption. It can serve as a good template for generalized moral control for those who don't think too deeply, or lack the courage to accept that existence may not actually be amenable to their sensitivities or make them feel good, but not really much beyond that. Admittedly, the overwhelming majority of humanity fits into that first category, so it's not the worst social system in the world, but obviously it runs up against its limits

The last part of Matthew chapter 25 is all about taking action. Feeding the hungry, showing hospitality to a stranger, clothing the naked, and looking after the sick. It means our lives wether we've done these things to Christ's brothers. God throwing a float to us while we are drowning is a gift, surely. But we still have to grab it and hold on to avoid drowning.
