Ascent 18: The ULTIMATE Teardown and Maintenance Guide

I'm going to show you how to take your Ascent 18 almost all the way apart, lube and clean everything and put it back together!
The TRX4M Maintenance videos I posted a while back seemed to be helpful to a lot of people so I figured I'd go ahead and do the same thing with the Ascent 18 because I needed to take care of mine anyway.

Do you recommend a particular type of grease for the gears? Marine grease, white lithium, red n tacky?

A lot of people like marine grease for their crawler gears. Ive used it in a few different RC applications and I liked it. I’ve never used red and tacky so I can’t report on that, but white lithium is pretty nice with metal parts if you want something less sticky. White lithium can be kind of hard on plastic though, so be careful where you use it. There’s also the udder butter from CowRC that a lot of people swear by. I haven’t used it yet but I’d like to try it some day!

Lmao the body? I know it looks bad - I accidentally knocked it off my shelf like 3 days after I bought it and the body exploded somehow. I guess I hit that lexan just right because it literally broke into like 5 pieces. Anyway I slapped this body together out of random parts just to have something on there for a while. I’m actually almost done with another body for it, so you may see that soon. I can’t promise you’ll like the new body, but it’s better looking than this one 😀
