Swapped to brushless? My evo rock van doesn't move like that in 2nd gear. Got the Furitek stinger brushless kit with micro komodo motor on the way though.
@Bash_TheStampedeКүн бұрын
No it’s got the RCAWD 370 brushed motor in there. I think that’s on 2s too since it doesn’t have the sweet tooth body on it in this video - 3S is wild! It’s completely useless as a rock crawler with this setup though.
@nathanstout7763Күн бұрын
@Bash_TheStampede OH wow! That still awesome. I'll send a video of mine with the Brushless motor when it comes in on the 15th. I've been playing with this thing all stock with the 130 brushed motor and it crawls damn good. If I actually let it just slow crawl it goes well. Going to get the 20 percent over drive portal gears and make it faster.😂

Do you recommend a particular type of grease for the gears? Marine grease, white lithium, red n tacky?
@Bash_TheStampede10 күн бұрын
A lot of people like marine grease for their crawler gears. Ive used it in a few different RC applications and I liked it. I’ve never used red and tacky so I can’t report on that, but white lithium is pretty nice with metal parts if you want something less sticky. White lithium can be kind of hard on plastic though, so be careful where you use it. There’s also the udder butter from CowRC that a lot of people swear by. I haven’t used it yet but I’d like to try it some day!

Take it off with the shock towers still attached and heat it up near where the screw goes, and don’t be shy with how hot you’re getting it. Once that glue melts, it’s actually pretty easy to deal with but there’s absolutely no way it’s coming out without some heat!

New subscriber. I love this video. I’m a little under 3 years in the hobby and I’m still navigating through all these beginner mistakes. Battery maintenance is one of my biggest issues at the moment but I totally relate to all 5 of these. The 6th one I’m still being stubborn about. My excuse is I don’t have a race track close to me but honestly Im not social like that and I would really have to push myself outside my comfort zone to go race. That being said I can totally see how being mentored by experienced drivers would make a world of difference.awesome video 👍✌🏼

Thank you for the sub and thank you for the kind words! Yeah the tracks are far for me currently as well to be honest and I don’t get out as often as I used to, but it’s a great experience in my opinion! I understand the social sort of anxiety when it comes to starting racing though. It feels weird to just show up somewhere with a bunch of people you don’t know and then try to drive on a track with them lol! I have always found it to be a better experience than I thought it would be though, so I still think getting out to an event and competing is very worth while!

So how do i keep from discharging my lipo to much while running my truck? Im under the impression this will damage the batt if discharged to 3vlt or less. My ascent 18 is on tha way and im new to this.
@Bash_TheStampede29 күн бұрын
Good choice on the Ascent 18! One of my favorite little crawlers. Yes if you go under 3v per cell, the battery will be done for. Luckily most modern ESC’s cut off before that 3 volt threshold is reached! In the Ascent 18 you can run the truck til it stops and you should be all good. If you had an older ESC that came out before LIPO batteries became popular you’d probably have to stick a Lipo alarm on it or something so you know when to stop. I hope that helps!
