I wore an ascot to a wedding, received lots of compliments. I was the only to wear one. Love the look. I like being different.

New trends always come and go! But elegance and style always remain. The ascot simply said " Has never and will never go out of style" greetings from Germany

The US Military also uses cravats or ascots during certain ceremonies and company photos. I still have my old pics in uniform wearing an ascot.

Sorry but I have to correct you in one point, Sir. It is true that the French adapted the cravat from the Croatians and also named it after them (Croate -> Cravate). However, that didn't happen under Napoleon Bonaparte but almost 150 years earlier under the reign of Louis XIV. 🙂

I've started rocking ascots in Germany during the 1980s - 2000. Returned to the U.S. looked around and saw how trashy American brothers look coming outside and I began rocking ascots again, circa 2006- present day. With top material dress shirts!

I love the dedication to ascots! Style is about what you make of it.

Cool! I have 6 different Ascot cravats and until now I've always tied them in virtually 4 in hand neck tie fashion with the under length pushed up and over the knot (to give it bulk). Never seen the knot and "over" tuck way that you show. This would allow me to leave my second shirt button undone and show more of the cravat material. When I try that with the method I use it exposes too much flesh🤣 (PS this livestream channel is dead but if you go to it I'm that mad english chap in the top hat...)
@russellgardener1263 ай бұрын
I also tie my cravats similar to the 4 in hand manner, but I'm going to experiment with these two ways of tying, complete with that little tuck. I'd never considered it, so perhaps it will work for me.

Ascot with a vested suit? Never saw that before. And a watch chain? Grover Cleveland meets Hugh Hefner. Good tutorial in tying the ascot though, so thanks. Fantastic beard too.

Sir, I've just discovered your channel, but how can it have only 435 subscribers. It deserves far more. I have a little trick to help with my shirts. I use Slick Collar. It makes a tremendous difference and if my shirt is a little problematic, like the younger man's then, slick collar really does the trick, and makes the collar stand up nicely. Very good for wearing with a cravat. In the US there is also Perky Collar, and the owner of that thinks that he has the monopoly. I think either work just fine.

Is it considered proper to wear a tie pin to hold your ascot in place, when tying it the classic way?

I have two ascots of thicker material, not easy to tie; then, I have another ascot of lighter material which is easier to tie. Thanks for the tutorial.
