mas malalaki po ang members kapag ASD ginamit compared kapag LRFD ginamit, tama po ba or baliktad? parang ganun naalala ko sabi ng instructor namin dati, kaya daw malalaki ang members ng ibang buildings specifically old buildings dahil ASD ang ginamit sa design at di pa na i-introduce o di pa masyado familiar ang mga designers natin noon sa LRFD. nung nag aaral pa kami yung instructor namin sa steel design pag nag bibigay ng quiz o exam, design using ASD and LRFD haha kaya pag di ka nag aral at di mo kabisado ang dalawa iyak ka nalang haha. Salamat po at merong katulad niyo na nakakapag share ng knowledge and expertise niyo sa structural engineering.

Lrfd might result into much bigger section vs asd because of the add-on safety factors, ex 1.2DL and 1.6LL To me, both design principle are safe to use as long as the designer has complied with the prevailing code However, I suggest to use Lrfd starting medium-rise and higher, especially nowadays we use computer programs in structural calculation its easy to plug-in parameters
