ASG 28 TPA Ultra High Torque Motor First Look

ASG doesn't just deal with complete airsoft replicas, they also design and bring in upgrade parts. This motor is their newest, with a 28 TPA rating, 18000 RPM, and neo magnets. It's a slow motor, but designed to run extremely high power springs. We'll be installing this in our upcoming custom race gun build through Airsplat, featured in Airsoft Insider Magazine!

The thing about high TPA motors is that you need to combine them with low ratio gears to get the full potential. With 18:1 or 20:1 ratio gears a high TPA motor simply takes too long to cycle the gearbox to give snappy trigger response and you'd be better off with a lower TPA motor with the same magnet strength. the key to fast trigger response is to complete the gearbox cycle with as few motor revolutions as possible and use a motor with enough torque to reach it's maximum loaded RPM as quickly as possible. I bet this motor would give very impressive trigger response with 12:1 or 10:1 ratio SSG gears, and even more impressive in a DSG setup.

Yeah I'm gonna run 12:1 gears and a 25k 22 or a 28 tpa motor

speedyboig any update? I’m ordering Siegetek 14:1 gears with a this 28 TPA motor. Also buying the Krytac 30k 22 TPA as well to see which one gives me better performance

@@sub_second_life3174 yeah just played yesterday. Im getting about 27 rps with a unshimmed gearbox with a shs high torque motor. They are 16 tpa. After shimming I should get close to 33 rps. Make sure to use a large spring with the dsg like a m150-m180

speedyboig I’m not going to use a DSG. Using a SSG and short stroking up to 3 teeth. I’ll put in an M120 spring and a crappy piston with plastic teeth to see if I’m getting PME or not. I’m hoping I’m good and won’t have to short stroke $140 gears

@@sub_second_life3174 yeah I need to ask my tech to dremmel the piston so I don't get pme and to ss the gear. Im using 12:1's

Honestly sounds worse. you need to re adjust motor height and shim gears. That will improve ALOT

to be expected when you don't shim your gears bevel to pinion correctly.

Stock motor takes about 86 ms for the first shot, ASG one got you whooping 105+ ms. I measure trigger response time in audacity looking at the spectrogram of the recording rather than its waveform. Accuracy is pretty decent and reproducible. Epic shimming, m8.
