Even though it was late we got Ash Greninja. Ash Greninja is considered a form rivaling mega evolution in the show and games it basically got mythical Pokémon status and is banned in competitive so yes Ash Greninja is a mega evolution although not an actual one

Like difficult enough that it isn't worth putting all that effort in there. The demos are always built off a version of the game itself. And honestly, there's no point to the Demos anyway. They were pretty bad honestly, and who needs a demo for Pokemon anyway? 99% of people know what they're getting into. Legends could be an interesting one that could work with a Demo, but c'mon. They really made a demo for ORAS, a remake? Super pointless.

My only dislike for Ash-Greninja is that it comes in a form that no other pokemon get. While that wouldn't be a bad thing by itself, its the fact that it's a starter. As someone who liked Delphox and Chesnaught, I find it irritating that Greninja(already the most popular pokemon) got a form. Not only that, but in competitive, everything about Greninja is broken. It's stats are great, it's typing is great, it's movepool is great, and it even has an amazing ability in Protien. Ash-Greninja makes its stats better than most megas, while also having an easy to activate condition and the ability to hold an item. And don't forget it's signature move that is multi hit an priority, making even more difficult to deal with. Chesnaught and especially Delphox on the other hand still have to live with being very mediocre pokemon in comparison. Its been a couple of years and they still haven't gifted them new forms or buffs to help them keep up with Greninja. It's not forgotten at all, the other two starters are, and I think that's a real shame.

Honestly, I wouldn’t consider him forgotten. I’ve been competing in various formats on Showdown a lot lately, including Gen 7 OU, which is the tier Greninja and Ash-Greninja are in. I and many frequently change between teams as to which ability we prefer. Incredibly strong, but not to the point it would be banned to Ubers like Protean Greninja back in Gen 6.

I'm still at a lost for words as of why they didn't ban that monster in Gen 7. Scarf Ash Gren just dominates if your wall/resist died earlier during the course of the battle. Granted it was KIND OF slowing the monster down but not enough to let it tear through the meta

​@@megasecptile3996 Ash gren only has one good set and that's specs. scarf is garbage, scarf ash-gren will struggle to land the first kill and never evolve. the only other set that could be considered is Z-water. one of the best counters to ash gren is assault vest tangrowth, because regenerator keeps you coming in on every move, and especially on spikes.

Gunk Shot, U Turn, Ice Beam, Water Shuriken, etc. They can either kill or pick off Tangrowth. The thing about Scarf Ash Gren is that it is weak to faster mons or scarfed mons. Kart can easily 1v1 a Gren if it doesn't have a move to OHKO it

@@megasecptile3996 gunk shot, ice beam, and u turn are garbage options on ash gren. what the fuck are you gonna get rid of to run gunk shot, spikes? and to do what, 9% more than dark pulse vs standard tang and a chance to miss? spikes is your most important move. the other 2 options are just a joke that don't do anything relevant. just run regular gren at that point. scarf lando dies to transformed specs shuriken, and takes 24.45% min untransformed per shuriken. scarf kart takes 76-90% from transformed specs shuriken, which means it has a chance to die after taking spikes once, and always dies after taking spikes twice. if locking yourself in is a problem then just run it on rain with z-water. ash-gren is basically a solved mon, water stab, dark pulse, shuriken, spikes. specs or z-water. no other options besides maybe life orb, but taking all that chip on one of the best late-game cleaners is bad.

When I first saw ash greninja, I assumed it was a lead up to special mega evolutions for the kalos starters that had little bits of the design that would change based on your characters appearance, since mega evolution was all about the bond with your Pokémon, the kalos starters were all based on rpg roles(warrior, mage, and rogue), and kalos had the big feature of character customization.

Ash-Greninja is my favorite pokémon. The reason Ash-Greninja was in the Sun & Moon demo instead of X & Y was because of the date it aired in Japan (December 10, 2015). This is 10 months & 8 days before the demo was released and 11 months and 8 days before the worldwide release of Sun & Moon. This means that the development of both the demo & the game were already close of being finished and so it was a nice addition to your playthrough. It's banned competitively because of many reasons. One of these reasons is that it still could use a held item, that means a z-move could've been used. Then there is also the fact of it's BST. It could outspeed most pokémon and just sweep. In addition to this he also got a lot of moves he could learn, with coverage moves like Aerial Ace, Extrasensory and even use Substitute and Double Team. I get that they banned the form for competitive play because otherwise it would've had a nerf, similar to Aegislash had in Sword & Shield now. It's design and it's role in the anime is simply the best like no pokémon ever was. It's a pokémon close to my heart because XYZ is the first I watched the anime completely in Japanese, English & Dutch and as a Greninja fan too, this was just mindblowing for me. I also enjoyed it in Moon & Ultra Moon, being my ace and sweeping through both games within hours. Even Ultra Necrozma stood no chance against me.

It truly is crazy that they entirely gave up on Pokemon Z. Since Gen 1, the third game was always the highlight. What's the best game in Gen 2? Crystal. What's the best game in Gen 3? Emerald. What's the best game in Gen 4? Platinum. After Gen 5, when Shigeru Ohmari starting to get involved with the direction of the games, it seems that passion has gone out of the window. It's all about how fast the money rolls in, nowadays. I truly don't see why Masuda would leave his legacy, that he was so proud to have created and had filled with so much passion, to a man who would simply strain the franchise to its marketable limit. Ohmari started to direct games in Gen 6, at around the time ORAS was in development. Also around the time that Pokemon Z was entirely discarded. In the anime XY/XYZ, Ash-Greninja was introduced. They did not include it in X and Y, most likely as it was planned to be a feature of Pokemon Z. So it was added later, disguised as an addition to keep people satisfied and from inquiring further into it. They did not want people to discover the fact that they had even started a Pokemon Z, let alone discarded it. Zygarde was introduced as some insignificant legendary in a cave somewhere, and it wasn't until Sun and Moon that it was given the ability to change form. Does anybody know the backstory of Zygarde? Probably the people working on it's story, before it was erased. Other than that, I would think not. ORAS also lacked the Battle Frontier, which was a huge part of RSE. Why? They rushed it so that they could focus on the development of Sun and Moon, most likely. They had never done that sort of thing before without immediately solving the issues in the third game. Another interesting thing is that Sun and Moon introduced regional variants, which are just an easier method to churn out new Pokemon effortlessly. This creates more to sell and market. It truly puzzles me how a man with passion would leave his legacy to a man of greed. It simply doesn't seem right. Have you ever noticed how there had never been 2 games following a main series, other than B2W2? However, B2W2 are very different from USUM. Black and White are prior to the story of B2W2, as is mentioned many times in the story. The story is very clearly a follow on from the original story. As well as the fact that in "White 2", you obtain Reshiram, and in "Black 2", you obtain Zekrom; the remaining Pokemon that you did not capture in the corresponding previous game. You also have a different house, a different rival, a different route, a different hometown, a different Mom, and are very clearly a different person. You can even go to the games' original house, and speak to the original Mom about her child who "Went to find N". Whereas in USUM, it is never mentioned that is it a separate game. "Sun" contains the same legendary as "Ultra Sun", "Moon" contains the same legendary as "Ultra Moon". You have the same house, same route, same professor, same story and even same rival. They slapped on a couple of extra features, an additional "Post Game Story", called it a new game and then sold two of them, rather than one. They knew that would do better, financially. It worked. It's disappointing that a decade old love of mine has become nothing more than a selfish business. Sure, you can absolutely argue that it always has been. I do not disagree. But at least before now, that selfish business had love for what it was doing. No longer.
