Lycanroc using that Iconic Counter to take out Haxorus! Krookodile stealing Aegislash's shield like they were Ash's glasses and using the shield against it! Urushifu pulling a double knockout with Zarude! Sceptile taking out Seismitoad like a ninja! Charizard burning Dragapults children along with Ash and Pikachu! Then the epic clash against Leon's Charizard! Finally we have Pikachu unlocking a power similar to Battle Bond and using a powerful Pika kapow to win the final battle! Amazing Video!

Just realized that the scaling the rocks thing at 16:08 could be a reference to what Ash learned in XY with his battle with Grant. I think the move was called "Rock Tomb Climb". Unlike in Journeys, Ash is actually using what he has learned throughout his journey. Pretty cool, Zac! Keep it up!

Notable highlights, >Ash using reserves >Leon's Charizard defeating two of Ash's pokemon which I kinda wish happened in the official battle >One battle mechanic per side, makes Ash look stronger imo being only restricted to using one >Leon's Charizard having Dragon Rush. Random but I always thought it odd the M8 tournament had it with 4 ranged moves and no physical move. Edit: Leon's Charizard taking a notable amount of hits compared to the actual episode. I dunno, in the latter I always felt as though he didn't take enough hits? Two ineffective Iron Tails, Two Quick Attacks and the final Fire Blast/Thunderbolt collision, whereas here, Lycanroc, Charizard and Pikachu really had to nail a few strong hits to taken down this titan And overall very nice ways to set up Hop and Gloria's upcoming departures from being Ash's companions 👏👏

In parallel to Journeys, I like to note that when Ash battled Leon, even all of his Ace Pokemon got hit by super-effective moves. Iron tail for Lycanroc, Sacred Sword and Power Whip for Krookodile, Thunderbolt and Ancient Power for Charzard, Toxic and Acrobatics for Sceptile, and Acrobatics for Urshifu, in comparison to Scorching Sands for Pikachu, Dark Pulse and Expanding Force for Gengar, Expanding Force and Acrobatics for Sirfetched, Flamethrower for Lucario, and Dragon Darts and Dragon Tail for Dracovish and Dragonite. Both were very intense battles.

So, I've watched this video six times since it got posted (I usually do that for all Zac's rewrite videos because they are that darn good) and it wasn't until just now that I realized that Ash's team against Leon was comprised of his aces from various regions: Pikachu - His partner since the beginning Charizard - Kanto/Orange Island (kinda sorta) & Johto (when it would help in a major match) Sceptile - Hoenn Krookodile - Unova Lycanroc- Alola Urshifu -Galar I'm sure we ALL wanted Greninja to appear! However, there is still one more video left for Zac to close out this series. Maybe our favorite ninja frog will reappear...

That was a truly wonderful final episode. Every story beat was great. Leon's team was awesome. All of Ash's Pokémon were amazing, especially his Charizard, who was evenly matched with Leon's Charizard. Had that omniboost not happened, Ash's Charizard could have won. But hey, that tense standoff between Pikachu and Charizard was epic, with the culmination of the battle being absolutely amazing!
