That summer was '97 for me, almost the exact scenario as this song, but damn this song takes me back...this may be the perfect, ultimate pop rock song to describe young love. Not your first crush, but being a little bit older, later in your teens, old enough to be going out and doing something with your teenage passion, not old enough to realise how ephemeral it all is and not caring...

Love this tune - '96 was a great year for music. i turn 30 this year and it breaks my heart a little that i've never found love, never had the sweet sensational summer days and nights that this beautiful tune evokes for lots of reasons i won't bore you with. the 90s were awesome. This is probably the first I've heard this song since the 90s, I finally looked it up as it's a song I find myself singing in the shower regularly enough, and I have done for decades. 😂 I forgot that it was by Ash, one of the most memorable gigs of my life was Therapy? and Ash in Ulster Hall, which I just looked up and realised was 1995, which means I was only 13. I did so much crowd-surfing at that gig. Shocking to realise how young I was.
