I have but just to get totally trashed by the opposite team. The las encounter was against a team with 4 legendary champions. What drew my attention was that it's stats were champion level 6+1... Yes whatever that means. I had no chance. I am however, a glutton for punishment and will sometimes fight a team just to see how hard I get beaten.

The biggest problem with siege is: there is NOTHING helpful in the UI to manage this game mode. Not even a simple statistic, like the number of attack scrolls used by members. The list of possible conditions for all posts is hidden in the posts defense configuration UI. Wrong place for that. And the list goes on and on

And the layout has some serious weakspots. There is almost no good chokepoints to use. They can either just wrap around it, or put all efforts into 1 choke and then uou can wrap again. Straight beeline on shortest path far superior. We need atleast 2 single tiles on more chokepoints so its actually useful to make awkward battlereqs or theyll just sidestep. One subpar bonus in any of the weakpoints is all you need to bypass the rest of the defenses. These problems are more obvious in lower tiers where rosters are more limited.

The only part of Siege that feels complete is how meticulously they balanced the reward structure to be barely rewarding unless your clan stomps another.

if they are improving the tavern screen, they should at least reduce the amount of actual chickens that show up (like how they finally put the books all in one tile now, for each type). No reason they cant eliminate that annoyance.

That is such a good idea ! Hope they implement this into the game. Maybe not only for siege mode, but for clan members/friends in general. Like fun (live)-arena fights without any rewards.

Back in the clash Royale days when an event with a special rule was in the game. Clan mates would test each other's decks to see if theirs were any good before blindly dropping into the event. It's baffling to me that you can't do that with your clan mates in this game.

A couple guys in our clan had a bunch of referral accs that weren't in a clan so we thought we were slick using their starting florins to upgrade our stronghold after the 1st siege until the very next siege when we realized our mistake

And now every siege, even tho we have a broken lvl 2 stronghold that doesn't hold more defs than a lvl 1 stronghold, our opponents have 4 att scrolls and 4 rematch scrolls while we have 3 of each

Placing a defense counting towards participation actually fixed the biggest complaint I had about the game mode. It was so easy to lose out on rewards if your clan won but you couldn't get a battle win in.

It's the same team that has not implemented a sort by level gear filter for years! Such an easy filter to code but will save tons of frustration looking for unleveled gear during cleanse, enchant events and the annoying "level a glove/helmet...etc to level 8" forge pass mission. It's completely fine for them to miss the point.

Nice video - such videos are kinda necessary from time to time [i.e. after basically every time Plarium has a new idea to 'improve' the game (I am hyperbolic here, there are good things along the line as well of course)]. [Usual hint to my channel - now with a Gilgamesh Epos Audiobook (very sad story)]. But what bothers me much more, at the moment, is the buffing of champions, that most player do not have - of course for those who own those champions (lucky pulls can happen to everyone at any time), I am glad [they should have fun with the champions, that is part of the game ... well it is the game) - but e.g. if they have to nerf void legendaries first [for obvious reasons (money ...), why not buffing the old ones, e.g. Cruetraxa; or non-voids - Septimus - all of them getting further and further behind - it is not difficult to balance this game; but if you insist to introduce more and more new champions, you are leaving the older ones behind. I am sure, a lot of players would be thrilled, if old Fusions [Armanz, Rotos, Gnut] would came back, instead of new champions, that outclass existing ones [but I guess 'money making' is not that easy with 'old' champions ...] I am sorry, for this rather negative approach of things ... Edit: I prefer to end on a positive note here: The new update with the badges, and UI improvement [it seems like the graphics also got much better], that is something very nice - it is not mandatory for anyone, but still nice for those who are willing to do something for it.

Siege is a really cool game mode : - Doesnt take much time (except for Clan leaders and deputies) unlike Hydra and - Creates a collective PvP experience where you are happy for your clanmates successes, pulls, artifact upgrades, etc But as you state it in your video, the current system is completely flawed, especially the matchmaking (

Siege could of been like clash of clans. Everyone set their defences. Their own rules. I think personal awards should be in every CVC. BUT. ONLY 20 people take part to win personal and none part takers receive minimum or nothing. I’ll happily play this game forever without CVC. It’s a pain in the ass. I’m just a Pokémon collector that LOVES the collection aspect. Forces modes always die first. I should want to play this game because I want to, NOT because I have to. Also with the snout of gear and stuff going on they need to increase gear storage.

I enjoy siege, but mainly through the power of suggestion. I get involved, I talk in chat, I hype people up and participate. I try to take something and learn each time. On things to improve: the biggest thing would be to be able to spectate, to see a better battle log at least. It would beef up involvement and excitement! I have to click on every damn post just to see what's going on! Also, I'm not an arena player, I have no clue what I'm doing. It would be nice to have a way for the clan leaders to see our roster and to point out poasible strats or OP champs to use. All in all, great video, Ash. Even if it is on a negativ note, it's coming from a good place. All of us who love the game want it to do better.

We learned early enough to stop donating towards the stronghold and posted multiple times in chat to not donate. Well people donated anyway, and it upgraded. So now were stuck, and I agree with you this is the stupidest thing ive ever seen in a game. Penalized for upgrading.

7:29 when you talked about CoC spectating when the enemy or clan mate was attacking was awesome, i hope they add this feature, it would really make your clan feel more connected. But right now all we have is a flame when someone is attacking OR viewing, make it only for when someone is attacking NOT just viewing.

Siege is just another thing to ignore and not waste effort on. I just put it in the category with Live Arena, Shogun, Sand Devil and Iron Twins. Maybe one day Plarium will add something that is worth doing. Heck, the Odin dungeon only has one set worth getting. If that set didn't include a chance for accessories, I wouldn't even bother with it. As it is, I still only bother with it occasionally. You would think the newest dungeon would be a must do but, it's just another missed opportunity.

The worst part of siege is the economy. All of nearly every clans buildings are always destroyed, and it takes so many florens to repair them, let alone upgrade.

Hey Ash. I agree; Seige mode is just nearly two weeks of waiting to do 2 fights, and then repeat. Its soooooo sh**. But anyway I got to 9:30 and what you said about enjoying the game made me think - which modes are actually fun to play? Maybe you could do a video ranking the different game modes 1-5 on how much fun they are to play. How many modes are there? 8? How many of them are genuinely fun to play? when you've done that, can you say that the game as a whole is actually fun to play, overall? Or is it merely addictive and you are fooling yourself that its fun to play?

Ironically I think plarium want to force us to look at siege every time we log in with that red dot, but honestly it's become such a reflex to just click the siege button then instantly leave that I actually forget it's started up again whenever it rolls around. Our clan did upgrade our stronghold before we knew it gave the enemy more attacks. It does give you more defense 1 more per person. So with the reserve team its 4 potential defenses per person. Of course there aren't that many posts but it is nice because we can have our strongest players place more teams. Now we know with the total amount of defenses per attacks, the attackers get an advantage. I think they did it this way because they're supposed to be expanding the map to allow more defensive positions but as of right now upgrading is a huge disadvantage

hey ! i think the biggest problem is time needed to play the game. I mean, we're not people who have nothing to do in our lives. When you have 2 hours a day to play a game, you actually want to have some fun, right? Not to be anxious for 2 hours trying to do everything you can to manage to get over with all the daily activities like a zombie in front of the screen. My suggestion is that all the battles are multiplied as many times as the player wants: Let's say you want to fight fire knight, right? Level 10 hard. You normally need 20 energy, so if you want to fight it 100 times and you have the 2000 required energy, then you just fight once and you get the rewards for 100 fights. How complicated is that? The same for all the other fights, everywhere in the game. If they were doing this, maybe I could find the time to understand how the hell siege works, maybe i could find the time to develop new strategies for new teams, maybe i would have the time to actually have a bit of fun with this game that currently feels like having a job!!!! I'm almost on the verge to quit the game cause - guess what - I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO HAVE FUN ANYMORE!!

Ash, the way you feel about Siege is the way I feel about Hydra Clash. You have to be level 45 in order to unlock Hydra Clash, but I don't see any way a level 45 would be able to reach the minimum reward for 70m damage. My clan is full of newer players and in our first hydra clash the 1st place clan got 15m damage. Nobody received a "reward" for it because of how it's set up. It's so completely pointless for anyone not in endgame

The idea of purposely losing attacks to help get an easier match also really hurts the clan that is being attacked as the points are also inflating their clan score which puts them at an even bigger disadvantage to bigger clans that have been winning and at a higher clan score. Plarium really need to change this and punish the people abusing this system. Siege was fun at first but finding out all the things that make it broken has really made it not so interesting. They need to fix the repair costs to not cost so much florins and also have to find a way to settle draws on top of fixing the stronghold bugs.

A shard exchange mechanic would be awesome. Perhaps 500 mystery shards into an ancient, 50 ancient shards into a void shard, 5 or 10 void shards into a sacred.

I completely agree with you Ash regarding this PvP Siege mode. I played Clash of Clans for 7 or 8 years, and Clan Wars in that game is exciting and is a big reason why many people play that game. I was hoping Siege in Raid would be like that, but so far it's been a big miss on the opportunity Plarium has with a real PvP and/or true clan versus clan game mode.

Upgrading your Stonghold gives you 3 extra defense positions you can place. To balance that the attacker gets 3 extra attacks.

I enjoy siege. My clan is pretty involved on discord. I just feel a bit useless sometimes. Especially when you get no rewards because you can't win an attack. You said it yourself: They missed the mark a bit when it comes to in game clan enjoyment. My entire clan is waiting for me in discord to tell them wether I won, or what the speeds/stoneskins were. Imagine instead they could tune in to the battle and observe themselves... Imagine we had a war screen, like Clash of Clans, where we can see how my clan and the opponents clan is doing so far. How many attacks we and the other clan have used, etc.

my clan hasn't participated in a single Siege - we *technically* have the ability to participate in Siege, but we've intentionally not put in the 15 minimum defense teams so we don't get *Raided* before we're ready to participate/actually get some incentive to participate in the mode

Arean, Tag Arena, Live Arena, and Siege Arena... the last one has limited currency that only winners get and upgrade-able buildings that stay inactive once destroyed for months.

I'm worried the ui change to make all the icons smaller is going to become an issue for mobile only players ...we're fighting eye strain as it is but gonna be even smaller now...heaven forbid you have big fingers.... just a concern ,edited this cuz I saw on a comment that ui change was only going to be on plarium play, don't know if true or not

Ash, Your number one complaint IS exaclty what they are looking at when they say they are looking at battle acrolls balance during early stronghold progression. Our clan is actually having fun with it. We are in tier 4 and were absolutely crushed the first week, but then have won the next 3. 2 of them were really close and the last one was the only time we managed to clear the board. We have been using mana to aet restrictions in the posts, and you have time to think and contruct a team to take advantage of those. A lot of offense scrolls are wasted trying to get past some of these posts.

Since we complaining anyways: Plarium why do we have an Advanced Quest: Use 1 Hydra Key This forces you to use your key, while this game mode give you a whole week! As f2p we can use the energy so its not great to skip.

Siege needs so many fixes. Repair costs, bonus costs, ability to track clan members activity, messaging system, etc. So much that is poorly designed. Plarium rolling out a new game mode is never good. They've only gotten it right once. Doom tower. Everything else has been poorly received or nerfed or straight cash grabs. We've won 3 out of the 4 sieges thus far and most of us participate but only because of the frag champ. She's not even all that great but hey, free champ. 24 frags obtained over 9 weeks now. So if we continue winning, we should fuse 8 months from now. 😂 that's IF we win 75% of sieges. Not likely. After that? Who cares.

My clan has maybe 4 or 5 active people on a roster of 24 eligible siegers. We are usually matched up against other lowtier clans. But my biggest issue is we just font have enough teams to even beat the other team. Us active players can make 3 competent teams (usually), but the rest of members since we are a new lowtier guild can at best make 1 winning team. They are just lacking roster depth. Previous fusion like armanz and gaius/ratboy more or less brickwall most of them (no one has any fusion done pre-eostrid). The 2 uses/champ restriction needs to go from lower tier battles. Add some extra scrolls to leader/officers. Lower the repair costs or remove it and add a defensive 1time boost for coins every siege instead. Base matchmaking on guild power+tier ONLY, none of this barely loose to stop a clan of 1/20th power next battle. Allow CHAMPION BANS. Its such a clusterfudge. Very punishing, hard to get rewards due to matchmaking/power difference and rewards are meh. No win= more or less waste of a siege since its a 9pc set.

I agree on Siege. Was really looking forward to the mode but atm it has some serious flaws. The fact that upgrading your Stronghold basically ruins your matches from here on is ABSURD!!! That combined with the fact, that it auto upgrades once you have enough resources is a JOKE. Speaking about it. My clan knew about it, still we couldn't prevent the upgrade, because some people didn't stop to donate LOL

I think part of the problem with siege is that most people view their clan as simply a means to Demon Lord chests and that's it. We're not all out here in small, tight knit communities.

I totally agree, as someone who still plays Clash of Clans, their Clan Wars is next level and has added so much to the game. Siege is a massive failure so far, no doubt.

Siege absolutely had the ability to be the best game mode inside raid and they shot theirs elves in the foot and then when they leaned down to put a bandage on shot themselves in the stomach with this mode it's very simple to fix it. 1: DM chat or some abilty to strategize with other members. 2: Fix the dumb bugs like the stronghold upgrade is the big one. 3: Make winning the siege the clan that gets the most points taking the stronghold should NOT be required to get the victory chest it should be a bonus reward to take the stronghold.

Hi Ash. I run a clan - participation is an issue, the mechanics are an issue, it CERTAINLY wasn't clear that upgrading the stronghold was a bad thing (thanks for the tip) and yes, Siege just seems like a terribly wasted opportunity.

I wish we could test out our clan mates defenses during the pep phase. Great to test how strong they are. Only about 7 members in our clan fight but all the rest of the clan fill up the best slots with the worst teams. I think your rank within the clan should affect the amount of attack scrolls you get. It would really help if you are in a less active guild.

Ive said this many times over the years, on your videos. Why is stamina cap still 130? Even if the cap at level 100 was 1000, it just allows players to spend more time playing. Would really help the f2p players who might only be able to put in time every 2 days

I agree with a lot that you’ve said. Siege is not a real focus of our clan and while we participate barely, it gets forgotten about. I do NOT like that the donate buttons and the donate to Repair button are a thing. Donated and ended up donating to the wrong thing 😑

Plarium can sure put out a whole new game mode(that sucks the big one BTW) but GOD forbid they add either higher character count for in-game chat, or maybe a freakin' friends list+ private chat!!! Sunken ditches. On a more positive note, Love you Ash, keep it real n stuff.

I think a number of the problems you are addressing are more for the Tier 6 clans. Dig out an old free to play account and try playing in a tier 1 clan, with an average account and siege is more fun and challenging. The map doesn't get wiped every siege, the stronghold doesn't get destroyed every siege by both side, mana shrines are farmed, as players don't have enough PvP champs/teams created.

My Clan had more hype about this than me and ultimately we ran out of puff after two rounds and for some time havent been able to do it due to members leaving. We dont put up a defence on CvC. The Clan will eventually fold.

I actually enjoy siege. Making faction only posts to counter meta champions etc and the strategy behind it is great. I agree with alot of what you said though, and this is coming from someone in a clan who has won every siege.

It's so bad for clans like ours with a big spread in player power. Because strong players can only clear a couple of the harder teams, but we're always stuck because our smaller players can't finish the stronghold if the enemy team has a lot of players with around the same power. I'm glad our clan doesn't care much about it because it could potentially rip it apart. We've lost 4 out of 4.

Been participating in siege, but only bc I don’t wanna let my clan down. The only time it’s been gratifying or felt rewarding was the other day when my clan leader saw that I’d attacked someone he’d been scouting and congratulated me. And that ONLY happened bc he happened to be checking that specific team. Tragic execution of a cool idea

Hey Ash, So I have 2 accounts and I'm noticing that for a newbie, the event dungeon is ruthless. I only have 2 Legendary and about 8 Epics on my new account but none is managing to pass stage 7 coz Odin just removes all buffs and stuns every team member... Loki sometimes manages to not get stunned but yeah then after every team member comes back to play, everyone in Oden's team has a Block damage buff. Luckily on my main account which is a year old, I'm able to manage still trying though

Completely agree with you Ash! It fell flat on its face. I don't like the siege update one bit. No idea what's happening or what I'm meant to do, the match up is always way too high, it's a complete disaster of a game mode. And the worst part of it... That stupid red dot constantly that I can't get rid of. I don't even know what it's for!!!!

We were working on stronghold. But now we focus on all other buildings till they are ready to be upgraded. Then we upgrade stronghold and all other buildings at the same time

my clan siege is just like : - everyone use your def scrolls - try to get at least 1 win with atk scrolls - if you have time, once the mana shrines are open, atk as much as you can in your free time for extra mana orb loot (fully optional) we're not competitive at all, the game mode is complete dogwater, there is absolutely ZERO engagement, we're only doing it for Lamasu

Our cluster has something like a badge system. Basically Roles given based on meeting certain milestones and a Hall of Fame for areas of the game, like top 3 fastest spider runs. So badges could be a little fun depending on how they implement the system. Siege, WTF is that? Forgot to set defenses last go round and barely got my fights in before time ran out. It's boring Arena set to a map of a medieval town. Not sure our clan cares that much, it's not really talked about other than a last minute warning to set defenses or use attack scrolls. Siege summed up - Hulk smash, collect rewards??? - now back to what I was doing in the rest of the game.

For clans that do not have enough players to fill all the posts there needs to be something that does not allow opposing clans to get points for those posts. Also, in Madden Mobile, they give players 10 drives to take on the opposing league. Siege can be promising so, hopefully changes in our favor will happen in the near future.

I don't think my clan ever lost a siege, but we only won 1 of them, the first one. and only because the match wasn't fair, we got matched with a clan far worse than us. All the others have been draws, all of them. I hate Siege as well, I find it very boring, but I do it because I want the champion, but if we keep drawing matches I'll never get her. the feral gear is nice and we try to take down the enemy stronghold every time and we have never lost. but we all still hate it though.

I hate that siege requires a win for you to get anything really. There's been times for me and my clan work our butts off, only for one dude on the other clan just to wipe the floor with are most important towers, then we lose and get nothing. Another thing I'm very disappointed in is fusion events. They're way harder than what they used to be. You actually need a lot of resources to participate in these events otherwise don't even dream about completing the event. I haven't completed one of these since Gaius came out.

Plarium needs to state unequivocally that they will make changes, constantly if necessary, until they get Siege working well. If they don't, I think it will become like 3v3 where people do it because Plarium "makes us" do so (assuming they add a "requirement" somewhere). As it stands, Siege appears to be a mode that is interesting but not compelling. And being "interesting" only lasts a short while.

Also, siege matchmaking is horrible. The last siege my clan was in was against a lvl 14 or 15 clan, we’re level 7. Every one of their teams was 300k power we had no chance.

I'm a clan leader, i don't care about the crappy rewards and siege hero fragments. So, I put up notice in clan message saying my clan does not participate in siege and i will kick anyone who put up siege defense. Because if you do not have defense team you'll never participate. Perfect unbroken stronghold. And it filters out the people who cannot read and trolls. Win win.
