Ashcombe Flash Flood September 2023

Taken by several Ashcombe residents on Sunday 17 September 2023. There was a biblical rainstorm centred on the Little Haldon Ridge creating an extremely high rainfall event which ran-off the steep hills into the valley below.
As the properties are built out of harm's way there was thankfully only minor water damage due to rain ingress from drainage rather than this torrent of water. The stream is servel foot below this level, but the flood-plain beyond took all the water away.
Major road damage two missing bridges and some electrical equipment flooded, could have been worse.
