And the story behind it (ashe explained everything in another video), the meaning of their friendship and how the song is meant to talk about how a friend can impact so much in your life, makes the whole song a lot better than it already is. Also, I kinda think that the "apocalypse" thing you said, the whole fault line and California thing, is sort of a metaphor to talk about all the bad stuff that happens in the world, and how people always talk about their partners and family, but very few people talk about the importance of a good friendship

Alsways more Ashe! 😁 But honestly, you should check out more Finneas too! One of the best musicians of a generation, in my opinion. He tends to get overlooked because he intentionally puts himself in the background to support Billie, but his solo stuff is phenomenal!

My feelgood song. It's soo soothing. It's real and not all vanilla and yet it gives you a little hope yat everything can be fine if you just enjoy it a little instead of worrying too much about the future. Also Ashe and Finneas's friendship is soo wholesome.

I wanted to write this in my own words but wanted to make sure i was right so here is the „if the tide takes California“ lyric explained (as seen on the annotations of genius): With rapid climate change in recent years, there has been concern that if all ice in the ocean were to melt that parts of California would be consumed by the ocean. Moreover, the idolization of California and LA in Western media and culture makes this line also symbolic of one failing to achieve their dreams and the end of one’s world that comes along with resigning yourself a life without your passion, or your love (romantic or platonic). If California sinks, the hub of music, film, and entertainment does as well, creating yet another symbolic death of art and passion.

I have never seen that music video omg that is exactly the kind of improv I've been doing while listening😂 so from my perspective I'd say she knows the song and the distinctive beats very well and maybe had some moves in her head that go with them but no full choreography. And then you just kinda feel the song while it plays?
