Ashengba Langei

In this short play the real treasure is compared to the treasure which one earns through a life of toil.
Once a dying old man called his three sons and told them to dig up their field and find the chest full of gold coins which he had hidden all these years and distribute with an equal share amongst themselves. After their father died, the three sons did as told by their father. They dug up the whole field but did not find the chest of gold coins. Instead, they decided to sow seasonal fruits and vegetables in the field. They started selling the fruits and vegetables and started to get a lot of money from it. It was only then, that they started realising what their father had really meant. They also realised that they could now lead a happy life with their hard earned money of planting seasonal fruits and vegetables. This short play shows us that the real treasure is the hard work we do and without hard work nothing prosper.
