I got this beat up 5’8” quad I got from a guy for free who didn’t really know how to surf. Fixed it up and it’s one of my go to magic boards. Everyone should have a quad like that in their quiver.

What makes it so magic?

@@dennishuynh5554 From 1ft slop to 6ft drainers and overhead point breaks, thing just delivers for some reason. It’s all beat up but it can handle turns, produce speed and super easy so slide the fins out the back. Thing is a barrel magnet too.

Thank you. I have a used 5'7" quad and I'm trying to figure out when to break it out because I keep grabbing my midlengths. I guess I'll have to give it a shot in 1-2 feet sometime.

I made and rode a board like this in about 1985. It was 5'10" X 20 with an 18" tail. Wing swallow tail with a slightly concave deck. Similar outline with wide-point forward. But my board had two keel-fins in the back - all fins aimed at the nose. It was a really fun board in Southern California (I've grown up surfing on Oahu - making boards since I was 14). Now I "surf" on self-designed kiteboards. No battling for take-off position, and never a drop-in to spoil my ride. Just endless "bottom-turns" and "cut-backs," the entire session long.

Doesn't look like Asher on a twin. Some combos are so perfect they shouldn't be messed with
