This song was played on the funeral of a 16yr old friend who died in a traffic accident. The day after it I asked the priest which song that was and he gave me te cd. From that moment I listened that song (and a few others from the funeral) every evening, for a year or 2 when I was going to sleep (repeat for a few hours). I still like it very much and it gives me a strange feeling. Tx a lot!!!

Almost twenty years ago in Spain, looking for myself and a spiritual life, I met a girl and I found Love as well as the Asha Quinn songs. Some time after, going back to Mexico -my country- this lovely and spiritual music remained in my life forever. Hello! Musically, this piece was influenced by the Slavonic liturgies of the Bulgarian male voice choirs. Spiritually, it was inspired by my own path in the Sufi tradition, which revealed more of the Christ energy in my soul to me. I composed it in 1988.

The actual subject matter of this piece is a case in point! When Jesus began to reach a wider audience, they turned on him... afraid of the truth of the light. For over 20 years, we've been using this beautiful song for the Healing time at the (NZ) Silverdale Spiritual Centre. I don't know how I found it way back then, but it's still my favourite.

Thank you so much, Lynn. I composed this in 1988, because I spent some months in Greece. The spiritual world had been revealed to me through the Sufi tradition, and this took me to my path in Christ. I now live in Budapest in a Christian mystic community. I put it on my album MYSTIC HEART in 1989, and my twin-flame in Budapest made this film in 2011. Many groups all over the world still use it for their spiritual meditations. It was, in fact, how I came to Budapest. They used it and I never knew until she told me! Isn't it funny how we find our path, karmically. Who called who???!!!

@@AshaSongs Thank you for your reply - what a lovely surprise, I did not expect this! (BTW I love Greece, when I was on an island many, years ago, (1992) I felt I was at home, and even the language seemed so easy to pick up, albeit just a little, to be understood anyway!). You asked 'who called you? (me)' (I'm taking you literally here so I'll briefly tell you). I was called when I was 8 years old! I always knew I was different, and that there was 'more' - yes even at that young age. I used to look up into the sky wondering what was 'out there' and in school, I used to 'zone out' much to the annoyance of my teachers! lol ... When I was 8, I was hospitalised with kidney disease (2nd time in my young, age, and something not many recover from!). I also belonged to a local Sunday School (sent by agnostic parents who wanted Sunday mornings without kids!) and when I returned after coming out of many weeks in the hospital, the Minister in the opening prayers, thanked God for bringing Lynn (me) back safely. I was pretty gobsmacked at that and thought 'God knows my name!!' - I then started my search for this God. (I have always been clairvoyant and a Medium, and as an adult I used to read palms, just for some 'fun', and this was in the UK.) I came (was guided) to live in NZ in 1995 and that's when my spiritual development really got serious, by being lead to the right people and sitting in meditation groups. In 1999 I was guided' to start a Spiritual Church and it opened on 02/02/2000 (I had over 100 people attend that first Wednesday night meeting!!) As I said, over 20 years ago now and the meetings take place every fortnight on a Wednesday evening, and for 10 mins we have hands-on healing and listen to Missa Greca. (sidenote - I handed over the Church, then renamed a Centre, to someone else and after 2 more 'leaders' we have had one (special) person, a friend of mine, who leads the center and has done since 2006.). As far as my 'spiritual journey' goes, I have been following the pointings of Mooji, for the past 8/9 years. I was 'lead' to him and have been in the space of love, peace and joy, and found bliss, ever since.

This film was compiled by my Hungarian twin-flame back in 2011, Irmi. She researched what to put in the film. Back then we didn't know how to make a film with me performing! It is still the most watched film on my channel! It's a long, strange story, but it was she who introduced me to Hungary, and Hungary's spiritual culture. Now I live here, but we're not together.

again, I was so taken in musically but this song snd your notes, I also purchased this CD,(MP3s) on line. I feel like i have met a fellow pilgrim musician bard on a spiritual journey similar to my own. I also like the way your music has confirmed that I should be open to returning to my mystical Christian roots even though I have embraces other mystical paths and gleaned good from them. About a year ago I keep thinking about the title of a book or two: The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ by Levi and Christ is the Sum Of All Spiritual Things by Watchman Nee. I picked up reading both of them again. I have read many books on Gnostic Christian Mysticism and had become familiar with Islamic Sufi Mysticism and Rumi from a Dominican Brother who was lead events for men that taught the Dances of Universal Peace. He is still active in his mystic ministry that embraces many paths and combines them. I get a strong sense of the same in your music. One more thing, The Byzantine Icon of Christ is the same on the was in the Movie Brother Suns Sister Moon which has always gripping me and transfixed me. It has as spiritual power and energy in a way the certain iconography does. Art can be a powerful vehicle for the spirit.

Aziz only recorded the chant for me, this one time. He's not a singer, but a Sufi guide. Sharon was my girlfriend at the time, and sang on one or two other tracks of mine, notably 'Gloria' which is currently on my double compilation album 'Forgotten Language of the Heart'. She's also not a professional singer. Her mum was author and literary critic Lorna Sage... who wrote 'Bad Blood' and used to write for the Observer. Sharon opted for the quiet life!
