Yeah, but each day supposedly brings a different innings and particularly for the first 2 innings, so being able to see what both teams did wrong in either the bowling or batting can help you as the viewer understand what they did wrong in terms of their technique and the way they played the game.

i have never in my entire life heard more about previous series leading up to this test match… australia literally won the test world cup a week before the ashes yet i’ve hardly heard a word about that but yet england taking care of a couple of B grade teams at home n winning in pakistan i’ve heard talked about more than the fact that hey y’all failed to regain the ashes 😂

That "England B side" won 3-0 in Pakistan whereas in the same year your Australian (presumably) "A side" only managed 1-0. In the run-up to this series England won 10 out of their last 12, including against the then world champions India, which even the most hardened Aussie fan must admit is a good run. That's why we were talked-up a lot. Were we talked-up too much? Yes probably, but don't forget that the whole idea of playing for the metaphorical Ashes of English cricket was a media hype back in 1882, so the British media has always been prone to hyperbole.

My observation of yesterday was both teams, probably almost were checking out. They were still trying to win, but there wasn't this fierce intensity that we've seen for the whole ashes are you in the crowd was relatively quiet, and when a wicket fell, there wasn't that pressure gauge that goes up every time there's a wicket it was just kind of meander through the day and then when the tail was batting, I didn't think Ben Stokes captaincy was very good at all. There was no innovative fuel placements. There was just nothing it wasIn fact roles were reversed when England started to resort to short bowling to get a tail ender out.

As an Australian I’m in two minds about the result of the final test: if we win, we silence the would-have, could-have, should-have whining Poms; but if we lose, we get to listen to the whining Poms bang on about how they were ‘the better team’, how they held ‘the moral high ground’, and all the other delusions of losers. Either way, we win. Or how about a rained-affected draw that prevents Australia from getting an easy win-that would be brilliant.

The last part you said is gold. However, I would still love to see Australia win and shut this whinners up specially those pommy commentary pundits including Vaughan and Ian Ward. They have become spoilt in this so bazball (baseball) era of just over a year they wouldn't accept any other way from their opponent is a way to play and call it boring. It's their utter stupidity and an attempt to bully Australia in the first two tests they cannot win this Ashes. All those claims about trying to save test cricket or make it exciting is nothing but utter nonsense. They seem to have forgotten how Steve Waugh and Pointing did bazball thing long before in late 90s till late 2000s with their captaincy and Pointing with his batting as well.

There was a time where a right armer bowling around the wicket to a left hander given the angle would never ever in a million years get a LBW. Now with "ball tracking" they are sitting ducks I dont know that I trust that ball tracking is that accurate. You got guys bowling wide on the crease around the wicket getting LBW's no problem. There is no way a ball pitching on middle bowled from around the wicket hits you on the front pad in front of the crease is hitting leg stump

@jlk760
@jlk760 11 ай бұрын
Totally. Their mindset appeared to be bat once, bat long and bat England out of the match denying them the chance to draw the series. Problem is if they only score 54 runs in the first session there’s always a chance as this Aussie side have shown at times in this series that they can lose a flurry of wickets in a session which blows that ‘bat long’ plan out of the window. Unless they produce their best bowling performance of the series today, I see England scoring a minimum of 300 quickly which should be enough but the weather forecast again may have something to say about the destiny of this match.
