You speaking of her not having to warm up is actually quite spot on. She's mentioned many times that she usually don't. She's got a tendency to not rehearse and to not warm up. Says she knows she should, but often can't bring herself to do it because its so boring to her 😆 In a popular mini performance at SOS Ole Bull (a charity event) she talks about intenting to rehearse before going on TV, but then her legs were so dry that she decided to moisturize them with lotion instead 😆 That's actually a good one to react to at some point. Three songs and lots of humour and personality in that one. How's everyone doing over there btw? Anyone starting to feel better?

10:09 "... the way she stares at you ..." Yes, she has said that she loves to make eye contact with her audience members. Having been there, I know it to be true. Not just a quick glance but a persistent stare for a number of seconds before moving on to another, an invigorating even unnerving experience ... (by "been there" I mean in an audience, not this performance audience).

Also, I _love_ the look on her face at the end of _both_ of these songs. After Churchyard she gets this big goofy grin and almost shivers a bit...like she's hyped up by how good that felt. And after All Is Soft Inside she literally looks like she's coming out of a trance bit by bit....

I hope that by now you're feeling better. 🤟 What a nice surprise! I love this mini-concert so much, and these are possibly my two favorites from it, as well as my favorite versions of both songs. "Churchyard" was the opener, and I think "All Is Soft Inside" was the third song. But yeah, she kept up that energy through the entire set. That joyous energy is why this show is such a fan favorite. There are two more songs that you haven't done, "Runaway" and "Forgotten Love." The latter is perhaps the most popular live version of that one as well. This was already an awesome Aurora Tuesday, and I didn't think you were still doing the music videos too, until you said so at the end, so wow, what a treat!

Hello, dear Ashlena ! I got up at 6 am CET and the first thing I saw when I switched my PC on, is YOU.... and this video. And now congratulations to you ! You have just conjured a smile on my face... can a day start any better for me ? 🙂 Now to the songs : These are probably the two most energetic songs from Aurora, performed live. I loved Churchyard since the very first time I saw this video... fun fact : Björk was in that tiny audience ! All is soft inside is a song which musically I don't like so much like Churchyard, but her performance here is awesome, of course ! And that's what you noticed as well : Her energy and how she delivers this performance on stage without losing her singing qualities, especially in the high notes, which she is still hitting flawlessly and effortlessly. Can't wait to see more Aurora reactions from you. Another thing I want to mention is that I love so much how you manage to react to and upload this video, in spite of your general state of health. I could literally feel how you feel, just by hearing your handicapped voice. I really hope you AND your child are doing any better meanwhile... sending love and prayers, I remain impatiently waiting until your next uploads, whenever they may come. wishing you well and a quick recovery.. once she said, she often didn't warm up. in another interview she said, she could sing for hours. in recent concerts you can hear her struggle when she dance and sings. i would recommend her the smaller stages.

Awe, this performance of Churchyard was my very first introduction to Aurora, my thought was she was extremely vocally talented, very energetic and a bit odd. My daughter introduced me to her and I remember remarking to her "I don't know if she has bats in her belfry (her head shaking) her ants in her pants (her one leg kicking)" ... She intrigued me, so I dived into her performances here on KEXP and found my all time favorite multi talented artist and have been listening to her everyday every since. LillM is my go to girl too, she is a deep well of Aurora information, lol. I hope you are all feeling much better and thanks for this wonderful reaction. See you on the next Aurora reaction 😍

Glad you reacted to Churchyard and All Is soft Inside. Professionally, as I seem to remember you explained some time ago if I'm not wrong, you just took into consideration the two videos containing exactly the two songs: I'm a little sorry because, by not using the complete video of the evening, for example, we didn't see the opening 60" which, if it is not stricly functional to the songs, still gives depth to Aurora's aura. I don't want to criticize, they are choices that I respect, but I think that in this way some collateral aspects are lost - Aurora's Intros, Interludes and Outros to her songs - which help to explain a little what is different about Aurora compared to all the other artists. Anyways, always looking forward to your Aurora Tuesdays 🙂

Funny you said that she seems like the sort of person who doesn't need to warm up. She's said before that she can't stand warming up and often doesn't do it. There was even a livestream she did early in her career, way back around 2016, and you can hear loud muffled music in the background. At one point she says, _"oh...that sound is my band rehearsing. but i never like to rehearse. just put me on the stage and i'm good to go."_ Something along those lines.

"(it's) way better live"... did I hear well?🙃 Her studio work is obviously high quality, but nothing can match the bespoke, handmade work of such a musical jeweler, I would say. So much spontaneity, inspiration, and talent, flowing just naturally. Her singing is not always perfect, but I don't remember having heard anything really breaking the flow or the harmony of her performance. It seems that the quality of the elements (of herself) that she assembles in her performances dilutes any eventual misstep, leaving the final result to remain dazzling, stunning, or whatever. Personally, it's her singing (well, with her whole delivering, anyway), that holds me, long before the rest, which in the end is just cherries on the cake for me. That said, that's a lot of cherries, and very big and delicious ones, on an already very substantial cake. So much the better! Her band is really great, to say the least. Great performance, at all level. Thanks for your reaction to Aurora, this bouncing and singing giant Pixie.🙂👍

I love the little vocalizations in between lines in the earlier part of "Churchyard." "All is Soft Inside is my favorite of hers. I love how she switches registers. When she drops into her chest voice to sing, "All around is stone, and all is soft inside," her voice is like a balm for my soul.

Hi... New young family band.. huge fan base called (Fangs) Next to The Warning this is my favorite. Girl singer, girl drummer. 3 boys do the rest.. awesome live ...
