I like several things about her compared with other crime podcasts. I like mostly that she doesn't do all kinds of ridiculous small talk when all you want to hear is about a case. She gets to the story immediately, is very fact based, doesn't try to be cute and sound like a valley girl.

The book actually took me by surprise! It’s a great read but it’s slow in the middle. This is her niche…writing.

I love Ashley Flowers (and Brit) and I’ve been a long time fan of Crime Junkie, so I’m not a hater, but….just read her book and it’s… not the best. But I’m rooting for her to get better for the next book!

This is the thing about Ashley flowers,. She makes the narrative or timeline interesting, and she sets it out in a way that we can make up our own minds. She suggests things with her talking cadence. She highlights things. She has a voice like no other. When we listen, we are just thinking what’s going to happen. Once you start listening to it enough, you try to decode what she is saying, but she always gets you. One thing I love is that, she really does make it so important for others to take seriously the things she is saying. She reinforces it. She is capitalizing on her popularity by Using it as a tool to negotiate and persuade people to help the victims of horrendous foul play! And to be honest, I have a mental health issue, and I have issues with deviance, and it was this podcast that made me want to be better! There are a couple things that I would say needs to be corrected, but they are just a little tiny things that are said here and there. What I like about crime junkie is that they are very respectful and professional in how they describe people. They always highlight how a person is innocent before proven guilty. I also like that they don’t talk about the way the person looks, like the way the criminal looks (I recently read an article featuring the murderer in Idaho, and they described him as having very deep set eyes that were so deep that it almost look like he was wearing sunglasses, and it was obviously a very biased way of confirming his immorality., I will see right now that does nothing for the community of people who already deal with being bullied and lack of self-esteem… Even as a woman it’s really hard to hear when they say things about a criminals appearance, and it makes you feel like you’re a criminal for looking that way.) , also they don’t mention how the girl is beautiful. I feel those are two stereotypes, that the crime world often uses as a way to, make one look good and one look bad when really, it is the moral character. Ashley and Britnbring out the morality or the immorality of the crime better than any podcast or any documentary I’ve ever seen

She does good reporting, I give her that, but her podcast is SO biased against men. Even if it's a man in law enforcement. Its actually pretty disgusting. There's actually an episode where a woman is arrested for and charged with domestic violence. She has a restraining order placed on her, and they tell the audience that they shouldn't judge her. Yet, when a man is ever charged with ANYTHING they automatically assume he's a murderer. There's another episode where a prosecutor, who's a man, asks a woman if her and the woman who was murdered used drugs. Ashley says this has nothing to do with anything, yet anytime there's a man who uses drugs, and is put on the stand, his testimony is automatically nullified because he used drugs before. Very biased podcast.

Don't forget the many cases of plagiarism! It'll probably change for them at some point, just don't know when.

I can’t listen to the podcast until Ashley addresses her plagiarism, acknowledge that it’s wrong, and APOLOGIZES for it. She profited off other people’s work to build crime junkie and look where it’s at today. She is rich and famous and has a small media empire now from it, not just a career but a tiny empire that rakes in millions annually. But this was gained through plagiarism. ***Her success is ill gotten.*** Shameful and disappointing! PLS apologize for stealing other peoples work and plagiarizing verbatim from their research/writing of these true crime stories.
