My husband is a rocker. The man could literally fall asleep to SlipKnot. He has a spinal injury due to an accident years ago. It manifests itself as daily pain and nightly bouts with Restless Leg Syndrome. Some nights are worse than others, and tonight was one of those nights. He asked me to pick out music videos on KZbin while he tried to relax. My taste in music is a LOT broader, so I was picking out all kinds of songs to help him chill. Then I cued up this video. I'm telling you, I WATCHED the knots in his leg muscles untie themselves. When the song ended, I had to wake him up and herd him to bed. He's currently snoring like a train, dead to the world, and it's music to my ears. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making a song that can soothe even a hard-rocking truck driver to rest.
@PurpleIrishSweater9 ай бұрын
There’s a preacher on KZbin that gives this blessing at the end of his videos: “May The Lord bless you May The Lord keep you; May the Lord’s face be made to shine upon you & be gracious to you May the Lord’s countenance be lifted up to you May you always know the peace of being in the Lord’s presence” Ma’am I don’t know if you believe in God, Allah, Jehovah, Buddha, Valhalla, the Force, or Flying Spaghetti Monsters. But I know that chronic pain is a beast to live with. And that the only thing harder than living with it, is loving someone who is living with it. So just know that somewhere in the Midwest is an old nurse who hopes you are doing ok, taking care of yourself, sitting in the sunshine on warm days, and looking to the stars on rough nights. If you ever see this message, I hope you feel hugged. 💜💜

Christ is everywhere at all times, in the midst of everything. He loves everyone, sinner and saint alike, but he is the fulfillment of the Law. The Law calls us to love God first and foremost- hard to do -, then love our neighbors as ourselves - also hard to do. We are to obey the 10 Commandments, to live with care and concern for the poor and marginalized,the disabled, unborn, the victim, the prisoner, to live chastely, not be given over to hatred, greed, lust or power or vengeance. When we stumble, He offers us a path to confess our sins and receive absolution. The greater our cross the greater our right to His Divine Mercy. He is Christ the King, Always and Everywhere, willing to walk through hell for us so that we may not be separated from the Blessed Trinity.
@pvmoore1154 Жыл бұрын
Stroll in? Yes Love the people? Yes Have a "good time"? NOT if the event was inherently sinful. Remember, Jesus rebuked sinners and INSTRUCTED them to STOP their sinful BEHAVIOUR AND THOUGHTS. Why do most people want so desperately to omit/forget that? Hmm.
@thephotoandthestory Жыл бұрын
@@pvmoore1154 yes, indeed. Thank you. This is the modern view of Our Lord, as the great affirmer, not Priest, Prophet, King Who saves us from our sin. Jesus is not some type of embodiment of personal fulfilment or gratification. This is such a dangerous perversion of the Gospels on one progressives are guilty of in the same manner conservatives can be guilty of forgetting mercy. This goes for everything and we're all guilty of this thinking. Progressive notions of the Gospels are a stumbling block and a grave error.

This song is a heart-tugger. I worked in a strip club for a couple years. Always had a full time job but the extra money was easy and helped. I learned more about life, and people, and grace there than I did in church. It taught me to be more non-judgemental and forgiving. Every person had a story. Every one of them were God's children. There’s a part in the gospels where this man goes to pray and he recounts all his good deeds to the lord and thanks god he’s not like the sinner… who by the way prays about how he’s so unfit to even be praying. Jesus or Hayzues (had ta spell it how it sounds) said only one of those men walked away forgiven. Went to church my whole life hearing all the stories, but one that always seems to be misunderstood is when Hayzues was writing in the sand when they wanted to trap him over the unclean woman. I don't know too many people that hasn't broke at least one of the 10 commandments...IF they are honest. Guess what's not in the 10 commandments???!!! I think it went away almost immediately when I heard you singing on the TV, as I listened to your Momma describe the first time she heard your voice on the radio I cried tears of joy for you both. Found you 3 years ago just before the pandemic, been listening ever since and looking forward to the day I get to her you live in a dive bar. Bring tears to my eyes over and over and back to the Country music I grew up on in 60's and 70's. 🤗

You can't explain it because the words are hard to grasp and come up with. But you understand it. Just like I don't have words when I, not only hear your music, but more importantly- I feel it. The words don't exist. It's a feeling. I remember the first time I heard/saw you sing. You were not alone on stage but I felt something in your stories, inside those songs and I just cried. And I cried even harder when you got that call from Garth. I could feel what you were feeling. I know that goin nowhere feeling but I'm going somewhere too. Thank you Ashley, just for being you, beautiful you, and for showing up to life.

I love hearing her talk, and I love hearing her sing, and I love the way she gently fingerpicks that guitar while telling her story. So great.

Singer/songwriters like Ashley McBryde are Poets! You can find them in all Genres of music. There's NF in rap, Ray Lamontagne and Amos Lee in Pop, but the largest pool of them that I have found is the ones that write Real Country music. Thank you to all of the ones that have that Tom T Hall spirt.
