This is my eldest brother to a T. Lost him in 2000 to a blood clot. Only 49 yo. Married with children. Greatest guy in the world. I am the baby of 8. He was the eldest boy. 12 years older than me. He was a father figure to all of us, after my father died suddenly at 60 from a massive heart attack. I was only 18 and crushed. Michael stepped in and took over. He was my "stone". Through think & thin. Good & bad... never left my side. Still miss him to this day. This song is so him. Thank you for your music.

Love this song!!! Lost my brother, Michael, in 2015 to suicide. He was in the US Navy and my dad is also, a preacher. Finally found an amazing artist who I feel like I can relate to. Thank you Ashley, I hope I can see you one day here in Nashville. Your voice is beautiful ❤ my friends and I LOVE to listen to your music around our campfires!

This song hits home. I was the youngest of six. Eldest brother died aged 14 when I was four. Next sister up from me died aged 40 when I was 37 . Too late now to open up but I wish I'd said the things I'd left unspoken.

Dear Didi~ wherever you are I hope you can finally see yourself the way I saw you. I love you and will keep your smile and soft hands in my heart till the day you call me home. You were meant for more. I know it and it is a shame that you are gone. The world lost a tender creative soul and the world has never been the same since. Even if I am the only one who knows it for sure.

Ms. Ashley... I have a older brother that I love more than words...however, we too, were cut from the same stone (my father) meaning it's pretty hard for us to speak about the IMPORTANT things...I love you big brother!! Thank you, Ashley, for putting these feelings to words. You have truly blessed me (and I'm guessing a lot of us) with your gift!

Crying. Lost my dad years ago. He died cause he was an alcoholic. I was young and I wish I could have helped him. He was a great man, when he wasn't drinking. I kinda think my mom may have drove him to drink cause she's toxic. Even though he was absent a lot from my life, I miss him so much. I wish I could have one more conversation with him.

Pedra Ashley McBryde Nunca irá Você se sentou imóvel como um na mesa de jantar Sem nada a dizer depois da graça Você era duro como um porque você tinha que ser Sim, os mais antigos acabam assim E se eu tivesse um para mim para cada vez que você me decepcionou Eu construiria uma parede, acho que sim Sim, você me ensinou tudo sobre Quais afundaram e quais pularam Mas há aqueles jogando e rolando E fazendo-nos abrir foi como tirar sangue de um O tipo steppin, o tipo estável O "Ei, eu tenho suas costas" você pode ficar atrás Só estou descobrindo agora que você se foi Nós fomos cortados da mesma pedra Eu balanço como você quando fico nervoso Eu sou tímido como você, mas a maioria das pessoas não poderia dizer Eu recebo o mesmo tom de vermelho como você fez quando estou com raiva Estou vermelho agora porque estou bravo como o inferno Nos que jogam, nos que rolam Isso nos fazendo abrir foi como tirar sangue de um O tipo steppin, o tipo estável O "Ei, eu tenho suas costas" você pode ficar atrás Só estou descobrindo agora que você se foi Nós fomos cortados da mesma pedra Sim, há um monte de coisas que deve ser escrito em um Mas seu nome não é um deles Então eu carrego um E é pesado Só estou descobrindo agora que você se foi Nós fomos cortados da mesma pedra a mesma pedra Stone Ashley McBryde Never Will You sat as still as one at the dinner table With nothing to say after grace You were hard as one 'cause you had to be Yeah, the oldest ones turn out that way And if I had me one for every time you let me down I'd build a wall, I guess I did Yeah, you taught me all about Which ones sank and which ones skipped But there's throwin' ones and rollin' ones And gettin' us to open up was like gettin' blood from one The steppin' kind, the steady kind The "Hey, I've got your back ones" you can stand behind I'm just now findin' out now that you're gone We were cut from the same stone I sway like you when I get nervous I'm shy like you, but most folks couldn't tell I get the same shade of red as you did when I'm angry I'm red right now 'cause I'm mad as hell At the throwin' ones, the rollin' ones That gettin' us to open up was like gettin' blood from one The steppin' kind, the steady kind The "Hey, I've got your back ones" you can stand behind I'm just now findin' out now that you're gone We were cut from the same stone Yeah, there's a lot of things that should be written in one But your name ain't one of 'em So I carry one And it's a heavy one I'm just now findin' out now that you're gone We were cut from the same stone The same stone
