I just learned 4 of your knots in about 5 minutes. That's pretty cool, I think.

Nice one. I'm glad you stopped yourself from squashing the burnt end of the cord with your fingers. Molten plastics on skin are painful.....I know.....many times. ;-)

Knot one negative thing to say. No knots are equal. Crazy. Great to see it uses. Handy 2 know.

Better than the figure 8 knot I usually use.

I think you missed a turn and entered the loop on the front side instead of from the back, as Ashley ties it on p. 86 of his famous book. It's interesting that you got the balanced, 3 coil at the end. But I don't think the knot you got is Ashley's. I could be wrong! lol! Knots are mental.

It is ABOK 526. Symmetry and the centered entrance of the standing part, and its bigger size compared to the Figure 8 make it great. Ashley has this in a run of knots usable as stoppers with increasing size, so calling it "THE Ashley Stopper Knot" is misleading. Ashley calls it the Oysterman's Stopper.

Is it necessary to allow the bight to turn 180° before feeding the working end through?

This is the fastest, simplest way to tie the Ashley Stopper Knot.

If you make a single rap scaffold knot you end up with the same thing also you can make a bend by making two of these which is a good bend.

The knot on the orange thin line is not an ASK. By the way, it's different from the one you show on the green string (that is a correct ASK). I don't doubt that it can work, but it's not the ASK.
