7:25 if anyone's wondering which performance she's talking about, look up "ladies code korean festival 2019". it was just her and sojung because zuny was filming something in korea at the time (i think). hawaii korea chamber of commerce didn't promote the event very well (thanks a lot) so i didn't even find out about it until weeks after it happened. it would've been my last and only chance to see ashley perform live :( i live 15 minutes away from where the event was held and i missed it.

A tip my family has used for years to make sure it’s enough water for your rice is to put your middle finger on the rice. The water should reach up to the first line of your middle finger! Hope this makes sense 😂 Love the series! Can’t wait to see the next one! 💛

Loving this series! I'm in the process of looking for a place to move out too and these videos are giving me so much inspiration! Luckily I've got a bit of experience with cooking, so watching your chopping technique gives me a little anxiety haha you should look up "the claw technique" - super easy to learn and start practising and it should help you avoid accidental cuts when you start chopping more :)

Jo Koy said that no matter how much rice you need: as long as the water is up to the first line of your middle finger, YOULL GET PERFECT RICE EVERY TIME. I've tried and it works DUDE

Hey Ashley!! I also used to get super freaked out by rice bugs but my (also Korean) mama told me that they appear because of humidity i.e. make sure your hands are completely dry when you scoop rice, and seal the bag up real tight every time :) Also, my mum puts dry bay leaves inside the rice bag - apparently those bugs don't like bay leaves and it keeps it nice and dry! Hope this helps x

I've learned a life hack from my grandma (and my mom) about the water measurement to cook rice, we use our index finger's segments. I found it more convenient when the pot's small. If you want a normal rice, use one to one and a quarter/ half segments of your index finger, but if you're in need of eating soft food, you can use two segments!

When cooking rice, I usually use the finger trick instead of the palm because sometimes my palm is too big for the rice cooker like yours. If not, I'll use the same measuring cup to measure the water needed (3 cups of rice = 3 cups of water). Thanks for sharing your ups and downs of adulting with the world! I know it's not easy and can be embarrassing but it makes me feel that I'm not alone with this struggles.
