Gento has a satyrical concept that's why it is very unique and entertaining especially if you get the little nuances. Granted if your not from the Philippines it may not be that easy to get. Gento is a mash up of the Pilipino words Ginto- gold and ganito- like this. Digging for gold, not settling for the ordinary and working hard to reach your goals is the main message. Pablo, their leader wrote this song and is the come back song of their EP Pagtatag. Thanks for checking them out, new sub here. ❤

Gento is I believe a slang word. It's short for Ganito (Like This). Also if you say Gold (Ginto) in another accent it sounds like gento. Hence, the gold references in the music video. [This is my take anyway.]

Pablo the leader who mostly wrote/composed of their songs,and Justin the creative director was the culprit on their every MV, stell was the choreographer, they are live vocal monster’s the five all rounders. They are hands on their craft, you will love them they are humble human beings they are goofy and chaotic at the same time 😅

Most of their songs (if composed by Pablo) are based on their own stories and experiences. So some zmzvs would usually have double meaning, just like their lyrics. Yes, all of their voices are unique that in a few videos you can already tell the difference in voices. They are indeed great in Live singing -- and thus, Live performances that's why you'll enjoy watching them perform Live. They have lots of Live videos on Wishbus. Their Vevo version of their I Want You is also good. MAPA on Wishbus. Gento on The First Take is a masterpiece. Ilaw on t The Rappler. Their AAA 2023 performance is a must watch. Another MV you might enjoy is WYAT. Music-wise.

Thanks for appreciating SB19! You're in for a ride. If you want to focus on their vocals, we recommend MAPA, Liham, Ilaw, Tilaluha and Hanggang sa Huli. Be warned: these boys are VERSATILE in every which way possible and they have tried probably almost all pop genres available, so keep your options open. 😅 Also, their leader PABLO IS THEIR SONGWRITER and he's always involved in writing, creating and arranging their group songs, so yes, they really mean what they sing. And I say "group" songs because each member ALSO has their own solo songs. Since they now manage their own agency, they kinda have to personally shell out funds for it (which is why their solo activities have become more prominent the past couple of years). Among the 5 of them, Ken/Felip has the most songs. You might wanna check their solos, they're really good and some of them even won awards for it. JUSTIN IS THEIR RESIDENT CREATIVE DIRECTOR for their MVs. This Gento MV is just one of his many filmographies. JOSH IS THEIR BEHIND-THE-SCENES GUY. He knows everyone in the circle. In fact, he's the one who recommended Justin and Ken when their previous company was looking for more members. He's a gamer and is also very financial-savvy. STELL IS ACTUALLY ONE OF THE BEST MALE SINGERS IN THE PHILIPPINES. He didn't even start as a vocalist when SB19 was first formed (he was kind of an MVP in the dance cover community), and it was only when training started that they realized he had always been a great singer which was kind of an obvious thing since they're all Filipino, but even by Filipino standards, Stell stands out. He's also the most sociable of them all, even landing hosting gigs and was chosen as a judge for The Voice.
