"Lataratara" is apparently a Filipino lullaby but I personally don't remember it even though I grew up in the Philippines. "MaPa" is a combination of "Ma" and "Pa" but "mapa" is also Spanish for map and we Filipinos use a lot of Spanish words. The song uses play on words like "mata" (meaning eyes) for when they describe their "Ma" and "paa" (meaning feet) when describing their "Pa". The parents are their eyes that gives them their worldview and their feet that lets them go places.

You know what's interesting. Josh who singing papa part 4:50 actually never met his dad. He was raised by single mother. The deep voice guy, ken, singing this 5:56 , 9:02 part actually was raised by his grandparents. His grandma passed away during MAPA recording. And his grandpa passed away in the same year. Pablo actually who's in-charge of line distribution of this song and other sb19's songs. MaPa (Mama Papa) in the lyrics don't have to be your biological parents. They can be the mother and father figures that helped you become who you are today.

Thanks for your awesome RV miss Ashley! SB19 is not a typical POP group who mainly have the trending or easy to digest songs, they are multigenre and you would be amazed to hear their other songs which are completely different from each other. If you still want their slow/ballad songs I would highly recommend Liham, ilaw, Tilaluha, Hanngang sa Huli which are all have Wish Bus versions. They have other slow songs like Nyebe but I don't think there's a Wish Bus version as of the moment.

4:37 - Latara tara is a generic Filipino lullaby. I guess the original lyrics for that song had been washed away across time, because it went way back during Spanish colonial period, and that the Lataratara song was actually in Spanish "La Tierra", which translates to "the world" referring to the child meaning the whole world for the parent. The only remaining context for the Lataratara song is to put the baby to sleep.... ... but in the context of this MV, it is now the child singing the lullaby to the parent intending to give back the honor, service and love to their parents.

Pablo composed this song with a lot of inputs from the members.. Mapa is translated to Map in english, also its a wordplay for Mama and Papa, and Pablo made it so it means that they are the MAP that guides us. The 2nd verse sung by Josh and Ken has a background story that makes it more emotional. You see Josh grew up without knowing his father, and Ken grew under the care of his grandparents because his parents need to work overseas to earn and pay for Ken and his older sister's education since they are very poor. But even so, Pablo explained that even absentee parents teach their kids lessons. ❤ Mapa on the wish bus sound different with Mapa on The First Take, i hope to watch your RV on both..
