Very helpful video. Thanks for being the one who changed the game for me!! I did the sides/parting similar to what you did in the back, when I got above the peridal ridge I started weaving like you did in the crown and tipped out the hair that was left out like you did in the back. The bangs just like you did. Turned out great 👍👌this is a perfect look and a guide you could modify for different looks!

Hi, you're just 13?! Dont mess with your hair, you will regret starting so young, take me for example. I had my first extensions (caucasian girl, first to do it where I come from), with glue-hurt like hell, lasted a few weeks, I couldn't sleep. I had them removed, my hair was so layered thin. Then I cut off my hair, went punky, silver, black & gray...I ventured to decades of mistakes....you should wait til after high school instead, shock everyone at a ten year reunion instead. You'll have shiny, gorgeous hair, and skip breaking the bank before your time. Dont be in a hurry for anything permanent! Try chalk AMD pens, or temporary color, maybe just dip the ends the opposite shade (like if your hair is light, go black a couple inches at the bottom for fun that you can trim away later*...I wish I had someone give ME this advice when I was your age.

@ILuvAyeAye
@ILuvAyeAye 3 жыл бұрын
@@katherinelkay7947 It's not necessarily about effort. Stylists who aren't presenting for KZbin typically have a designated amount of time they give each client. It's probably not enough time to do this. If you want a big project, the best bet is to find a salon that does free consultations, and then meet with the stylist and explain what you want ahead of time. That way the stylist can let you know what she's able to accomplish in one session, and schedule enough time for that session, and give you an idea of what the price will look like. You can also feel out the stylist, and decide if she's a good fit or not. You might need to wait weeks after the consultation for her to have a long enough time slot to fit you in. That's not a bad thing: It means she's in demand. (But sometimes clients cancel last minute too, so someone immediately having enough time isn't necessarily a bad thing either.) It also depends on the hair you walk in with. Certain hair types lift slower, or require multiple sessions if you want the hair to stay healthy. And if you have previous color on your hair, that complicates it even more.

Yes, probably the best kind of hair to highlight and balayage. You probably don't need higher than 20 volume bleach due to damage. Also, invest in your bleach and developer and don't buy the cheapest out there. Not all bleach and developers are the same some are so harsh they will fry your hair. What is worse than having one tone dark hair is having unhealthy bleach blonde hair that is brittle, feels like straw, and breaks. I would also do a time test on a strand of your hair, plus test the bleach to make sure your hair can take how light you want to take it. Do an allergy patch test also. The DIY route can be great if you are cautious yet wise about your decisions. Good luck if you DIY!

@misslulame
@misslulame 4 жыл бұрын
Zaida S. Is your black artificial color? If so, you can look into color oops to remove as much of the black and then have your stylist take you further with highlights. That’s what I’ve done in the past. Having black hair you should expect to do this over several sessions and you will likely deal with a lot of brassines. You can always make that work for you if you go the warm blonde route though. Good luck! Ps. If you do use color oops, make sure to rinse and rinse and rinse some more.

Usually if you have very dark hair like -5 , you can ask for a FULL highlight and a cool tone- ask for a specific level and make sure you express your concern about the strength of the lift - so no 40 developers even on virgin hair. That is of course if you have virgin hair. What she’s done here is a balayage on colored hair not virgin hair so don’t be fooled. She also mentioned her clients hair was a level 8! If you’re very very dark 3 which is black, then of course you can get your high lifted, and toned to a cool nine.

same. i dont really know what to do, my natural hair is super black and i used to have dark purple hair for some months then i dyed it black like 3 times to get rid of that color, it was permanent dye and last time i did it was november. im not really sure if the dye is still in my hair, i dont really have idea about hair color things lmao. and if i can put brown dye over it for some highlights, or if it would apply only to my undyed roots

@@sarahsmith1901 if you use a weak bleach with 40vol you are not going to get the same lift than a very strong bleach such as blondme. The power is in the bleach not the developer. The two work together but you will get very different results with 40vol depending on the bleach used. It's the same with high lift tint, they are all used with 40vol, however some lift better than others, it's all in the power of the high lift tint. We shall have to disagree on this one.

Very helpful video, I have a question for you, I color my hair to cover my grays., I have Dark Brown hair. I have been wanting to do a balayage (honey) to cover my grays how long should I wait to go in to get a balayage on colored hair?

Since coloring your hair does very little damage, I would recommend to wait at least a few weeks and your hair should be fine :)

Hey, I am gonna do this on my hair too. So from what I know is I bleach my hair first. ( bleach+ developer) Then wash my hair off and then apply developer + the color shade on top of the bleached hair for 10 min? 😅 please let me know if m right?

I’m going to try to attempt this on my friend. I just wanna know how much amount did you use for the toner? Did you mix it both together?

This is one of the best if not the best bayal applications I have watched in KZbin. And I have watched ALOT! I paint the bleach on my hair to get highlights every summer. I have learned a lot from trial and error over the years I do not use foils. I also break my lightening up into 3-4 sessions with the last sessions really focusing on touch ups and the “ money piece” how long did they take you? Do you feel it a must to use foils? I understand there can be spottyness when they aren’t used, but if using common sense and a thicker bleach consistency, I have found I can avoid spots and foils. Doing mine painted on with a powdered bleach 30-35 V I can be done, washed out all under a hour, my hair is almost same length color and thickness as your models. Mine is previously grown out form bleach last summer, so I don’t have to lighten all but do have to lighten and brighten and focus on new growth. Which is basically all the hair but avoiding the super light pieces at bottom But I am here to tell you it can be done yourself common sense and I bit of a artistic eye goes along ways. No foils ,no toner, no heat. But saturate is a must. This is a great after. Nice work. Very nice lift for one application!!! Was her hair all virgin? . I really wish you had show a front view! I

i love this color. my hair is about as dark as hers, but when i try bleach or even just going for some face framing highlights, it looks good for a while but then i end up having to cut my hair because of damage. it gets really dry and brittle and they end up looking aweful. i dont know why that is happening.
