Erol reminds me of that middle school kid who’s tall and lanky and still growing into his body who isn’t very serious minded yet. He’s just looking around and enjoying the scenery but hasn’t become a star on the junior varsity team because he’s not quite ready. But by the time that same kid gets to high school and realizes that he’s been picked for the varsity team, suddenly his mind matures and he becomes a force to reckon with. I missed the video about the gender reveal. So cool that you’re having a girl! It takes a lot of mileage to get the greeness out, and I think he’s making good strides. Melissa does a fantastic job with him. Once he figures out what his part of the job is, he will be awesome.

Erol is gradually learning and you can see him gain confidence at each event - it's never a straight line. He covers the ground and jumps so well , and such a good dressage for a youngster - what a privilege to share the journey. You take care Ashley, growing a human is hard work! Erol is getting better! Dressage is getting so much better. It’s weird, jumping the bigger warmup he is flying but a little at wonky show jumping. It makes me think he respects the bigger fences. Lord knows he has the jump! Cross country was improving too! That’s what you need to focus on. The wall - not sure. A little scary and he flew over it the second time! It’s still very new for him and he does try. Next time maybe a double clear! He’s so able to jump and is so scopey. I think a little more experience and he will be stellar!

Aww good boy Erol. Lovely dressage test and just one down in the showjumping. He did so well cross country and he jumped the stone wall brilliantly at the second attempt. Must have been the dragon 🐉 hiding in the grass that spooked him first time. Fab ride again from Melissa. Love her sparkly Riding Hat. Great vlog ❤❤❤

Poor Erol, here he thought you'd driven him all that way to take him out to a nice restaurant & instead you want him to WORK!!! The dressage was an amazing score, he just got a bit silly & maybe distracted at that one jump in the ring---maybe a little confused about whether it's XC or not, with grass & all? He did fine n XC, he just likes to know exactly what he's going over, maybe b/c he's still learning to trust Melissa or any rider. And I swear he turned his head & winked at the camera after the water---"Look at me doing the dive!" Lovely day, he's getting better all the time!

It is a beautiful saddle. I have to say my favourite dressage saddles are the English County. I was one of the first in Australia to buy one ...LOVED it. I bet the French saddle costs a packet here but they sure do look lovely. Melissa has a lovely position. Quite a lovely test and agree he is coming off the forehand. Not surprised at the score...it was a lovely soft test. Great to see you put rings on him for his jumping. She's a really good strong rider cross country and she has to be because he is not the most forward going horse. Looked a lot better by the end of the track. He started travelling by himself. Michaela said that running is what they do every time...well not really. They don't carry another human around, which sits on your bladder every time you run !

Evening Ashley, I have spent all afternoon catching up on the Vlogs. First of all, massive congratulations on the gender reveal, a little girl, I am so happy for you both. And can I just say, you are glowing. Definitely a positive his dressage has come on so much if he would take his handbreak off at some fences 😂but when hes going forward wow he can cover the ground!!! Hes at that fine line stage spooky/green/taking the p and all younsters go thorough it! Hes going to be a force to be reckoned with as he grows! You couldnt have picked a better rider either!! You might have said in a previous video, but why don't you let Melissa have Errol full time? So she can ride him every day and get to know him even better? Wouldn't that be more fair to Errol as well, as he'll trust her and get used to her more? I have a lot of friends that are riders that thought it'd be just getting back on after the baby have come, but most find it is not that easy and they end up having 6 to 12 months off riding. Some even longer. I hope you can just hop back on Ash, it is just something to think about.

Why shouldn't Ashley have the Horse at her own yard? Erol belongs to her not you, what right have you got to tell Ashley who should be riding HER Horse? You need to concentrate on what's going on in your life, instead of worrying about what's going on in Ashleys life. Ashley will return to the saddle after her Daughter is born, when she's ready. Not when you think she should!! Also, Melissa might not want to take Erol away from Ashley.

@@MissJools11 I'm just asking a question. It is a justified question when Melissa is competing Errol, if she shouldn't take over riding him 100% until Ashley is back competing. It would be beneficial for both Melissa and Errol to be more familiar with each other. It isn't a form of critique or doubt in Ashely's return to competing, it is just an honest question because I know that is what is the most common thing to do, especially with young horses.

Like I said in my answer above, you should concentrate on what's going in your own life, instead of worrying about what's going on in Ashley, and Melissa's lives. Also, Melissa might not have space in her yard for Erol. Ashley and Melissa's arrangement, HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!
