I think the nightmare depicted in this work is something we all have. It sits in the back of my mind, telling me lies, wearing me down until I think like it does; believing that others dont care or want you. The little whispers in the back of your mind telling you shame and self denial. It also comes up and works hardest during depression and emotional pain, telling you that the pain will stop if you die. I'm certainly not mentally ill in anyway, but I'ts hard to maintain it all sometimes.

6 years late - but just fyi, it's not normal to have thoughts like "If I died, the pain would stop". That is, in fact, a big warning sign of severe mental illness. Healthy people don't have those thoughts. I see you saying "don't we all experience" and the answer is honestly no. At least, not to this extent. We don't "all experience that". I highly recommend seeking help if you haven't already, because you don't have to live like that.

To think that this nightmare tormented Celestia and made her feel guilty and regretful for 30 years before Celestia finally had enough and gave in because she couldn’t take the pain anymore and because she felt like the only way out and to escape the nightmare tormenting her plus all the guilt she felt was to let the nightmare in and let it corrupt her It’s so sad especially because she suffered alone all that time 😞 Still I absolutely love this song it’s one of my favourites of the nightmares songs next to Blame It On Me and Little Luna ❤

That could be possible but remember the nightmare is tricking her and stating facts that she have done in the past and twists it getting in her mind. So the possibility of Celestia using her own magic would be even tricky due to her being manipulated

Incitos Sol but that upsets balance pretty heavily and the ponies aren't about doing that, not even Celestia would bother with them as there's clearly a bondary between safe and dark magic(plus, you also have to put into consideration that they are giving mercy to those that are dead from the grip of the nightmare, because no one would even dare to put someone through that torture, not even their worst enemies. You would essentially make disorders that cause bad self-esteem and ramp it up insanely, even worse for those who have lost already or have such a disorder)
