Jay Ungar's timeless melody "Ashokan Farewell" was the best tune that I could think of to send off this year. I would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you for watching and supporting me and the channel throughout 2020. I really don't know where I'd be right now without this outlet for my creative energy and music and those who utilize it.
All the best, keep rolling & see you next year.

Also, this is one of the first fiddle tunes I ever learned, and it still makes me tear up 20+ years later.

Thanks Russ for your videos, especially the ones with your dad. I will be 71 years old in Feb. and I still miss being able to play with my Dad. Like I have said before, treasure each and every tune, because one day all you will have are the videos and memories. Happy New Year to you and your family. Hope 2021 is good to you!!

Outstanding!!! Feels like an arrangement that J.D. Crowe would’ve have been able to put together 40 years ago had he been fortunate enough to have a J.D. Crowe of his very own to follow, learn from & build upon. Therein, DYNAMICS! The main BBC ingredient harnessing beauty & grace on a 5-string

When I heard your version I felt a singular loneliness come out that I hadn't heard or felt before. Maybe it is the because it is 2020 , maybe it is your individual interpretation. In either case it is leaving me speechless. I hope our New Year is a sight better than this year and I look forward to your pickin' more amd more. We have endured!

I usually think of this as a fiddle tune, but you played it beautifully on the banjo. I don't think anyone will be sorry to bid farewell to 2020, but I'm glad that you will not be bidding us farewell. Please stay safe and well and keep rollin' into 2021, Russ.

Can I ask a completely unrelated question? How do you change the head on your extended neck prucha? It's been bothering me for so long.
@81crowe
@81crowe 3 жыл бұрын
Sure thing Nathan! Just like any banjo with an extended board, you need to remove the neck to change the head.
