Is anyone else here having an experience where after 10 years of watching/reading/practicing this kind of content it only just now actually made sense where all of a sudden you just feel this rather than just knowing/talking about it??? People told me it might take a few years, didn't realise it'd take me 10 but I guess better late than never 😅
@offgridcitycouple569511 ай бұрын
@@WingsofFlight-n5u it is just stillness really. A clear space from which to create beautiful things in your life. Like in the Dao The Ching the concept of Wu Wei is about doing from a place of non-doing. As in, being productive with no judging thoughts in the background, so that all your energy is now freed up to be put into whatever your craft is. In that sense it is liberating and revitalising to have all that energy back that previously the mind consumed by entertaining petty thoughts. That's the distinction that helped me to finally "get it" - it was realising that meditation and thinking and actually taking an active role in life are all one and the same. In that, using the mind to set a nice direction for the future and constructively thinking about what you can do to get there is like an active form of Meditation that results in clarity and congruence between who you want to be and the actions you take on a day to day basis. Through that congruence and certainty comes the contentment that enables more stillness. As for dealing with the past, it was once again using constructive thinking to realise that even though bad things may have happened, the pain I held onto was my attempt at making that situation better by trying to solve it in my mind. But we can't "fix" the past in our minds, so hence the more effective way to make it better is by becoming a better version of myself that isn't held down by the past anymore. This is simply done by replacing that pain with something better that you can do in the present moment such as being optimistic and sharing your gifts with the world. You can't feel 2 things at once, so the only way to make the past better is by replacing it with something new. So finding a resolution for the pain I felt was step 1 because it allowed the space to find stillness. Then, the real key was moving beyond the duality of thinking that meditation is me sitting down in peace, and then resuming my stressful life. Instead, true presence is the ability to feel that calmness that you feel during meditation as the background behind your thinking/doing - and most importantly to be able to retreat back into that stillness whenever the constructive thinking is done. When we stop looking at presence and meditation as a designated practice, and seek to have our whole life become the practice, that's the key to having it permeate every aspect of what we do. Hardest part for me was finding someone who could explain this in a way that made sense, so I just started writing about it on my own and sure enough it made sense eventually, but others may not vibe with this kind of description as these are the words that I found. Hope this helps a bit, this seems to be a subjective journey but the consciousness we find on the other side of that journey seems to be a common experience.

@@WingsofFlight-n5u it's a kind of stillness and calmness from which we can create beautiful things in this world. The most helpful concept was learning about Wu Wei from the Tao Te Ching, where we "do nothing while leaving nothing undone". The way I understood this was by realising that meditation and thinking and being productive are not separate activities. It's not about meditating for 30 minutes and then resuming our stressful existence again. It's about experiencing that stillness while being productive and sharing your gifts with the world, which becomes a very liberating and revitalising kind of experience because all the energy that was previously consumed by petty thoughts is now freed up to be put back into our craft. This act of merging the dualities of action and non action was the key for me. But the journey there also involved using constructive thinking to set a nice direction for the future, and then aligning my day to day actions through self discipline with that future so that I feel congruence between what I'm going in the now, and the life aspire to have. In other words, ignoring important responsibilities wasn't the way into presence for me. It was by taking right action that I found the contentment to deepen that stillness and presence. And further, by merging the joy of what I thought the future would bring with the mundane day to day activities I ironically found joy in the present moment, and realised it was never about the future, but about enjoying what I'm doing now - while contributing to a nice life for myself and my family. As for the past, I had to realise that holding onto the pain was me trying to make it better in my mind. But the past can't be "fixed" by constantly thinking about it, in fact, ruminating does the opposite of fixing anything, it perpetuates it. The hurtful past can only be fixed by replacing that pain with something new. Simply because our brain can't experience two realities at the same time. So by becoming a better version of myself now, and by engaging in right action now to improve my life, the past simply fell away like yesterday's news. And so this really was a process of bridging the duality between day to day activities and the act of being present. As in, being able to think constructively, from that place of stillness. So that it's always in the background, and whenever you realise your mind is now done with thinking and starts to drift, that's when you find that stillness again and continue the next activity from that place. That's how you know you're "there" when you are free to go back "there" whenever you like, or to do whatever you need to do from "that" place. Hardest part was finding the right words that made me understand. I couldn't find them in books so I sat down and wrote about these things on my own until it started to make sense. Next thing i knew a new world opened up for me. Bad habits like alcohol, coffee, and social media started to fall away because they felt wrong in my body. All of a sudden I started to notice synchronicities all around me like the universe giving little signs of encouragement - which were always there but I didn't have the attention to notice. Then the every day activities transformed. For example I was operating an excavator at work, and in my mind was no-thing, but on the outside the work became effortless and a pure expression of creating something beautiful in the world. And once again, the journey of getting here seems to be subjective. But the experience of Being and connecting to the Source seems to be universal and very similar from individual to individual where similar beliefs and thought patterns appear. And the desire to engage in unhealthy habits falls away, because there's no longer that underlying discomfort to try and soothe with something tasty or intoxicating.

I totally agree with you. I have a new friend who is 93 and she is just starting to remember to let go and let God. She sees her grown children doing stuff which is not what she thinks they deserve. She feels that she needs to try and correct them before it's too late for her. But I've been saying that the Nero scientists are saying we can live to 150 earth years old so she's just over middle aged. 🎉 She is happier today to just be a human being and not a human doing! Bless her she has achieved many things in her life and letting go is hard. 😅

Eckhart's teachings frequently pop up in my yoga philosophy classes because so much of them overlap with yoga: the prakriti and purusha, the antaraya, the klesha, the panchamaya, duality... It's all there, and older than Jesus and Buddha etc. It says to me that we humans have a deep longing for inner peace and world peace. It's hard to believe it's working though, when there's genocide and oligarchy around, but I have faith that the arc of history is moving that way. I can play my part in that. ❤️

one is using sprritual knowledgde to fulfill egos desires, the other is about detaching from desire for outside things. Real spirituality is always about becomming unconditionally peacefull, loving, joyfull and that means not even wanting to strive for those feelings but becomming unconditionally here and now. so any teaching aiming for better feelings or even just very base human desires is not spiritual

I have so much respect and admiration for Eckhart as a presence and form. Practicing his teachings have been saving my life for about 8 mos now. They have helped me manifest several things I really needed, badly, besides greatly improving the overall quality of my life, immensely. Modern day philosophers critique this beautiful, wonder of nature who freely gives us wisdom, guidance, the gift of a true life. They say that there “is no proof of his cosmic teachings,etc…” Well, I’m living proof by just the way my life has turned around from listening and acting out this man’s knowledge. I’m sure all of you who follow Eckhart have the same experiences. HE is and shows us how to access (the presence) pure love. ❤🙏☮️

Ekhart states that not every I, in fact is a bad thing there is a deep version of "I" which is deeply embedded intuition. He also states that you don't have to tolerate things that harm you. You have 3 choices to complain about to accept or to remove the harm. You chose , rightly so to remove the harm . I think some people completely misunderstand Ekhart and their perception of his words are quite varied

Eckhart Tolle has it partly right, the ego is an identity; however, it’s our 1st identity. We are born into an environment that communicates from an egoistic mindset. We need the ego to exist and survive. We cannot stop the ego; however, we can free ourselves from the ego when we understand through an awakening your spiritual intelligence.

@@binathere2574 listing, reading, and attending Eckhart Tolle's seminars will not change your basic nature. Yes, E.T. has a lot of excellent content; however, an important reality is missing. It's impossible to take in new information and make real inner meaningful and phycological changes when you are filled with confused conceptions. There's a way to freedom and true spiritual growth.

I have not published it for almost a year, as when I met a publisher, the words he spoke to me woke up my ego with promises of greatness and success, so I retreated to reflect why. Last month, I met an editor that showed me I had done the work, and I was finally ready. The book is now on Amazon, and I am still a work in progress. Trying to blance between, giving it the light it needs to shine a way to others, and completely letting it go and trust that it will find its way to whoever needs it.
