Worst city to be in whaaaaat? I loved Gainesville! For the price, there is no better school. It was a solid 10 for me. And, the rigor totally depends on your major. The J-school was a piece of cake.

Great video. My grandson starts Medical School this year and is an out of state student. He was accepted in several medical schools but UF was his number one choice and God answered his prayers. Very excited.

I'm a senior in high school and i'm really confused about picking schools between uf and fsu. would you recommend uf to a student more interested in humanities majors? just asking because a lot of the interviewees are on a med track and i also know fsu has really good humanities programs. how do you think they compare?

I personally don't have too much experience in the humanities area at either school, but from what ive heard both schools have great programs for it! It ultimately comes down to the specific major, network, financial and personal reasons that you need in a school, and then assess it from there. Hopefully this helps!

Hi Ashton I like the video but most of the students you talked to are from FL, We are from IL my daughter applied to UF she is a senior in High School she applied thru common app its her dream college, as parents I like UF. She wants to persue medicine, she wants to get into Premed at UF, her GPA is Weighted 4.06 unweighted 3.51 she took several AP courses with a 5 passing. Shadowing hours of 80, BEST Academy Tampa Summer course in USF and Advent Hospital 130 hours, in 2 science clubs at school, working volunteerily at Hospital.What do you think her chances of getting admission at UF if not UF we are ok with USF. She got 4000 hours of classical dance learning from last 12 years.

@@abramtadros7107 ACT Super score 30 she has 80 hours of doctors office internist shadowing, BEST Academy USF Advent Hospital 120 hours of hands on training. Clubs and 3360 hours of Classical Dance learning and certificate

Hey! from the looks of it UF would definitely be a great school for your daughter if she is all in on a career in medicine. UF is super weird with their admissions so there is never any guarantee with who gets in. However, GPA and ACT are usually more lenient with out of state students, and the fact that she has so much experience will make her stand out a ton compared to other students. I cant guarantee anything but she is a very strong candidate for Uf for sure and almost guaranteed to get into USF!

Hello, I'm from the Philippines and I've recently moved to Florida. Can anybody help me regarding school admission. I just finished until my 3rd-year in college in the Philippines under the Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. I know that my units will not be credited. What did u dislike about uf that made u pick fsu? When I was in hs I never quite understood the level of hype with uf. Both uf and fsu are prestigious public universities

I personally loved both schools, but the energy I felt around campus at FSU was just unmatched with any other school out there. Also I knew I wanted to go into entrepreneurship and film, and FSU had better programs for both majors, so with those two factors combined, my choice became very clear!!

@@ashtonherndon My daughter(SWFL resident)..stats IB 4.0 unweighted 5.5 weighted 34 ACT many clubs National Honor Society’s etc etc got into every school except UT Austin, now deciding between the 8 schools she was accepted at(GA, Texas AM, TN, SC, UF, Florida St, Auburn, UCF, FGCU) full rides to everyone except GA, won’t chose UF she hated the UF campus and vibe…loved FSU(got into honors program for this fall in Marketing) I think she is leaning FSU over GA, it’s close but the full ride, closer to home, and loved the campus tour along with positive feedback from folks we know who attended….love your content….

I'm a junior in high school and UF is my dream school!! Do you think I have a shot at getting in for Summer B class of 2028? Here are my current stats: FL resident, Plan to be yearbook chief next year (3 years yearbook, 1 photography editor, 1 chief?), president of 2 clubs (possibly BETA club (next year)? Paws for cause and JSU), founder of JSU and Paws for Cause, in french honor society, french club, finance club, inter club council, pickle ball club, Biology and Medicine club, outside of school jewish youth group VP/Morah 2 years, give kids the world and special olympics volunteer every month for 4 hours, competitive figure skater for 8 years and now helps kids with disabilities learn how to skate(gliding stars)-2 hours weekly (currently 3 years, 4 next year), Gliding Stars volunteer of the year, humanitarian trip to Hawaii (20 service hours), varsity track 1 year and 1 next year, jv lacrosse 2 years, currently over 200 volunteer hours, 4.1 W GPA, all honors and 3 AP's (GPA will be higher next year since I will take a rigorous (AP and dual enrollment) course load) hopefully my sat score will be around a 1210, mom went to UF and is a doctor, and 2 of my cousins went to UF.
