We can't hit from the 1st ball itself what happens during last ipl finals is pure example anyone has to anchor the innings you can hit from the first ball in flat pitches but pitches in chennai ekana are very tricky and we need a batsmen to anchor the innings anchoring innings doesn't mean that they have to play in less strike rate That's my opinion!

Ruturaj he waited for almost half a decade with a consistent performance in ipl, domestic and given intl T20 matches and Abhishek Sharma just performed one ipl with no consistent performance. how he can be selected ? Same goes with shivam Dube Nitish reddy got selected with one season performance.

Nitish reddy is a better allrounder than Shivam dube as No one wants to Play Shivam Dube as a pure batter (He doesn't bowl nor He is a good fielder & He doesn't even use his feat) as we already have Hardik, Washi and Nitish Reddy and only 15 can be in the squad. Ruturaj didn't have a good run in SMAT 2024 and ongoing VHT so likely He will lose his spot in ODI as well. Abhishek Sharma is being given chance because of his Strike rate and thats the kind of strike rate You need upfront in T20i which Ruturaj can't offer. If Abshiek fails this Series Ruturaj may be looked to fill his shoes. All being said Its Ruturaj form is backfiring him & Not the selection panel. Cricket is a competitive sport & Can't hold on to his old stats to get selected.

What ashwin sir trying to say is you want big hitters only (no need of anchore role in modern cricket)This is the only reason virat retired now in t20s.Since t20s is evolving (his style of play is not gonna help the team. In the entire t20wc tournament, virat tried to attack from the first ball but he miserably failed. But don't forget that he played many clutch innings in pressure situation in t20wc. On PDogg's comments on Ruturaj. The template for T20 batting is set by Hyd Sunrisers. Go hard in the first 6 overs. Yes we need an anchor but we need it in the middle. Even somebody rotates strike, it means potentially we lose 3 runs or more. From that logic, it makes sense for having three gung-ho batsmen (who can shift gears down if the situation demands) in the top three. Future topisc I would like you to talk about.
