I can relate. After 26 years of nursing and post covid craziness I took a 2 week break. I did a medical missions trip to Egbe, Nigeria. It was amazing! My time was spent with greatful people and Jesus! It gave me a new love for nursing and descided to go back to school to get my NP. Not planning to work in the US with my NP but international missions trips. I look forward to see what God has planned for you! God Bless!

Was about to start back travel nursing until I landed my current NP job, which I love! Sometimes, I think about how old I am and haven’t even started my journey to nursing yet with 3 children who are 8,12,13. As a Single mother and 32 I’m questioning Lord is it too late? Am I able to start? And even watching a few of your videos it has encouraged me greatly, Holy Spirit says “Do it!” This has encouraged me. Know I’m covering you In prayer sis. Girl, as long as you have breath in your body it’s never too late. If He put it in your spirit to be a nurse, He’s already made the path clear. Ask God to help you see yourself the same way He sees you. You are worthy of co-creating the life you desire with Jesus. Surrender to His will, and watch how He shows up. I’ll be 33 in 2 wks, a mother of a 10 yr old and God put it in my spirit to go back to school for sonography. Im nervous as all out doors, but at this point in my life….. Girl naw it ain't too late!!! I quit my job at 36 and enrolled in nursing school. When I say that struggle was REAL... BABYYYYYY!!! The adversary will try to stop u/discourage u from becoming whatever God has destined for u. I was a single mom also. My son is now an adult .. I'm in my 40s and nursing LITERALLY CHANGED MY LIFE!! It's hard but the options are endless. Stay focused AND PRAYED UP sis. Faith of a mustard seed... if u just put one foot forward and ask for His help and guidance, He got u. U can do it! (I'm now back in school for my NP.... who woulda thunk?!)

This is unrelated to np but i am a operating room nurse, i want to say Gods plan will not make sense to others but will be a path of peace always end up being a better plan than anything we can make up he looks out for us and his plan will always be for his good. Enjoy your time of rest. Enjoy peace of mind, enjoy learning something new in your break periods i have learned so much about myself i can draw i am super creative and i still have a heart to help others. I have changed jobs many times i am on my 3rd facility and i dont take no mess lol but i also am humble and willing to learn from those that know more than me. Nursing is a good career! I know nps who come back to operating room nursing for seasonal rest periods. there are different places that are great to work. I just finish working at a facility that served me well during my recover phase. I am thankful for every season. Even the tough ones and it is always something new to learn and trails and tribulations grow our faith. Now I am ready to get back to it with a position a little bit more challenging but with balance. I wish i could share my full testimony on here. Maybe one day God is still writing my story and has called me to a season of community and building for his kingdom. so i will be taking a break from making youtube videos for a while. as far as advice for nursing school, figure out your learning style and gear your studies towards that, build rapport with your clinical instructor’s & professors, and create a study group with 1-3 other nursing students

I'm still a baby FNP. My first job was with a staffing agency performing C&P disability exams with veterans. It wasn't bad but being the only person in the clinic was stressful. I gave a 30 day notice then transitioned to outpatient ambulatory Infusion services. The company was new and administration acted really really really shady about an uncomfortable situation with me and the 'owner.' Nevertheless, i was no longer with that company and now working as a contractor assisting with HRA for United Healthcare. I have prayed, cried, and wondered what is happening with me. I got an email that my position with an OP VA clinic will begin in 5 weeks. Is it wrong to submit a resignation 5 weeks? I wasn't certain about 30,60, or 90 days. I've completed credentialing with the clinic months ago

I would check into the resignation policy for your company in like an employee handbook & contract (if you signed one) for you company to see how much time you have to give a notice. for example, the company I used to work for the contract I signed stated we had to give a 3 month notice so I did that.

I want to become a Nurse. The process has become stressful. I understand why it's stressful you're taking care of people and other people lives are in your hands. I enjoy working with children just not in the school system. I want to become a pediatric nurse. I have had some obstacles in my life. Last year my grandma passed away I am still grieving her loss. It's been hard. My GPA is low. I won't be able to get into Nursing school. I am doing the best I can to get through my Pre-reqs. I always thought having a certain GPA is everything it isn't. That's what I am learning. I am not a A or B student. Mainly C student. I'm just asking and praying to God if it's his will for me to be a Nurse. I'll let God have his way. Because it's only so much I can do. I always thought my identity was wrap around a GPA. Because getting into Nursing school is so competitive. And I have never been a competitive person until I became a pre-health science major. @Ashley Audacious

Hi Kayla, I agree that your identity isn’t your GPA and that you should ask God what is his will for your life. With nursing programs, i’m not sure whether you are applying to bachelor’s of science in nursing programs but I would encourage you to look into associate of nursing degrees programs that are accredited. also try to find a nursing program that doesn’t have a GPA requirement if possible but other components of your application will need to be stronger. if your school has something like a student success center then you should visit there as well. nursing school is very tough and they have strict requirements to stay in the program as well. for example my nursing program kicked you out if you failed 2 classes, failing was making a 75 or less which was considered a C. so you will definitely need to get to the root of why you make C’s whether it’s study habits, not a good test taker, etc. and address it because depending on the nursing program you get into C’s can get you kicked out.

Thank you so much for letting me know that about nursing school. I know that getting into the ADN program at my community college it’s competitive. The LVN requirements isn’t based on GPA it’s a point system. Majority of my points is going to be coming from the ati teas test. I just want to be successful in my pre reqs.
