The Bee Gees although a fantastic in their own right , they thought of themselves first as songwriters ( according to the Bee gees themselves). these are just some of the songs they wrote and recorded for other people . Chain reaction ( Dianne Ross)- Heartbreaker ( Dionne Warwick)- Love me ( Yvonne Ellerman)-If I cant have you (Yvonne Ellerman) Emotion ( Samantha Sang) Hold on to my love (Jimmy Ruffin) Woman in love (Barbara Streisand )- Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers Dolly Parton) Grease (Frankie Valli ) Woman in Love ( Barbara Streisand) More than a woman (Travaris) . There are others that can be added to this list.

The BeeGees were: guy on the right (lead singer) Barry Gibb born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Guy in the middle: Robin Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, guy on the left with shades on: Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin'. From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too kzbin.info/www/bejne/nX_QpWewiqmMl5I

Should watch the documentary, and want the movie "Saturday Night Fever". They had seven songs in the movie, but two were sung by others. They didn't consider themselves disco singers or writers and hated to be called that. I love their music and really like to listen to their interviews. They can really be funny. They were great, but Maurice, loved him, loved, loved him! R. I. P. MO, Robin, and Andy.

The Bee Gee's rabbit hole is one of the deepest and eclectic in genre's you'll ever find. Robin (d. 2012), Maurice (d. 2007) and Andy (d. 1988) have all passed away. May they rest in peace. But Barry at 75 yo is going strong. Besides keeping the Bee Gee's music alive, he's writing and recording his new music. He released a new cd last year that hit #1 in the U.K. within mere days of it's release. He is also working with his sons on their music. The Bee Gee's music has spanned 7 decades.

Don`t let me come back here and call you Jive Turkeys if you don`t listen to those two songs!! Jive Turkey! was a common 1970`s phrase. Watch almost any `70s show and you`ll probably hear it.
