I have been a vh fan since I was a little kid in the early 80s...Im a huge eddie fan(obviously) ...I took my oldest son to see them on the different kind of truth tour, and we both left saying Alex was the best in concert drummer we had both ever seen....and I've seen all the great bands...Alex is so great , and as appreciated as he is, I still think he gets overlooked when the best rock drummers are discussed...Eddie cast a huge shadow, but Alex was more than game

Hagar had an interview where he talked about this song after it came out. He compared it to guys who always want the super pretty hot girl, fancy clothes, makeup, hair, all that. He said it was like buying a crepes Suzette for dessert. Once you get past all the fancy stuff, all you've got is a bunch of pancakes. What guys should be going for is good old poundcake, simple, delicious, filling, homegrown and down home never gets old.

" I listen but can't help to get lost into it" ... that's called innovation. This guy writing and performing was always ahead of the pack. 78' debut, no one ever heard of a guitarist like him. 82-91' in spite of the thousand guitar players trying to "one up" him, he only put out 4 albums in that timeframe and brought everyone back to reality. Eddie always stayed ahead of anything in that moment. He literally took everyone's popularity away when he dropped a new song/album. Michael Jackson was the king of pop, Madonna was was the queen of pop, Elvis was the king of his genre, the Beatles were the king of theirs ... Ed was the King of guitars and when he was on... NO ONE touched him. That's innovation.

This song is as good as Van Hagar ever got. And this album sounds amazing - they went and hired Glyn Johns to engineer this record - Google THAT guy's resume sometime - and reunited with producer Ted Templeman. What you're hearing is Eddie premiering his newly designed signature guitar AND amplifier, Alex recording on acoustic drums for the first time in a decade, and some seriously great engineering and production.

We just want the cake, baby. You can put icing and decorations on it if you want, but we're here for the cake. The thing Van Halen uses to make their guitar sound that way is Eddie Van Halen. Thank you so much for these videos Asia & BJ We appreciate your AUTHENTIC reactions to VH music because it means so much to us that you appreciate this music because it is so special to us. So many bands throughout the years tried copying their formula… but it was like, no , I don’t think so. They were ground breaking. Your videos help me deal with Eddie’s loss.
