Stevie Nicks broke up with Lindsay Buckingham. In response he wrote this song about her: "When Nicks heard the song, she demanded that Buckingham remove the line "Packing up, shacking up is all you wanna do", but he ultimately kept the lyrics. Nicks later explained her feelings about the line: "I very much resented him telling the world that 'packing up, shacking up' with different men was all I wanted to do," she told Rolling Stone. "He knew it wasn't true. It was just an angry thing that he said. Every time those words would come onstage, I wanted to go over and kill him. He knew it, so he really pushed my buttons through that. It was like, 'I'll make you suffer for leaving me.' And I did."

Actually when she wrote the lyrics of “Dreams” they were on one of their many break up episodes and he broke up with her to go fool around with groupies, he wrote this song when she finally ended the back and forth toxic relationship they had , she got fed up with the mental and physical abuse from him.

If they were on a "break-up", then it was none of HER or YOUR business, was it ?!?!? However, she DID shack up with Mick Fleetwood ... well ok, had an affair ... with a married man. Yeah, she was innocent alright. Dreams may have been about how she saw the relationship, but it wasn't reality, which maybe could have been part of her problem, she never faced reality. Lindsey built her up from nothing, insisted that, if he joined the band, it would ONLY be if she were allowed in too, fixed her songs so they were sellable and so the band would ALLOW them to be on the records, and to pay him back, she wanted to be set free so she could be "Runaround Sue". I think I see where he was coming from.

@@StevesFunhouse wow! Angry much, dude? You make it sound like she did this to you. Stevie is not going to call you any time soon. She is a public personality. And you're just some dude. Deal with it, man. You're not that guy who talks to the TV, are you? And expects it to talk back? WOW

@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee I'm not so sure about that. The words in all their hits resonated, not only with me, but with a multitude of people ... and not just from the U.S., but around the world. So, I agree that the music is "top tier", but I firmly believe it's like the saying, "the sum of the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" ... it was neither the words nor the music that made it ... it took both. Thanx again to Lindsey, who arranged and directed the band to that place that the world found them. It's the whole reason, IMHO, that the band went from almost certain obscurity (the direction they HAD been going), even in their home territory (Bay Area), to legendary worldwide fame.

1977! Fleetwood Mac's Rumours album sold 10 million copies in the first month of its release. The songs on it ruled the radio for years afterward. Another banger from that record that too often goes overlooked these days is "You Make Loving Fun" their fourth top ten hit off of that album. Check that song out when you can.

Fleetwood Mac are a British-American rock band, formed in London in 1967. Their album "Rumours" (1977) has sold over 40 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums in history. All the songs on it are great. "Go Your Own Way", "Dreams", "Don't Stop", "You Make Loving Fun". "Second Hand News", "Gold Dust Woman" & "The Chain". Other great songs from other albums are "Over My Head", "Say You Love Me", "Rhiannon", "Landslide", "Tusk", "Think About Me", "Sara", "Hold Me", "Love In Store", "Gypsy", "Oh Diane" etc.

Great Reaction. This song was basically a response from Lindsey Buckingham on his breakup with Stevie NIcks. At the same time Christine (Keyboard) and John McVie (Bass) were breaking up. Mick Fleetwood (Drums) and and long time wife were having problems. Nicks and Fleetwood started sleeping together and all this was going on while they were recording this album. Buckingham riffs in this are epic. Please do Rhiannon (Live at the Midnight Special) next. Thanks and God Bless.

Their drummer (Neil Peart) is arguably the the most recognized name in the band and is definitely brought up in every conversation surrounding the best ROCK drummer in history... Neil died recently, and due to this, these same reaction channels were FLOODED with Rush songs and praise for the incredible work of their drummer just a few months back... Ring any bells?😉😉 As for their songs... I couldn't name more than a handful that received radio play... Probably not their best songs as those never are... Stevie and Lindsey lived their breakup on stage. She broke up with him, writes a song to him about it, they perform it together. He writes a response and they perform it together. Like a slow-motion car wreck.

Read about Fleetwood Mac and all their relationships. It was truly a soap opera. A married couple, John and Christie, Stevie and Lindsay were breaking up, Stevie slept with Mick Fleetwood, the Drummer This song was written by Lindsay about everything

Gesundheit: Interjection used to wish "good health," especially to someone who has sneezed. In this situation, Gesundheit is roughly equivalent to "God bless you." In German "Gesundheit" means "health" (and "sanity").

I've loved Fleetwood Mac from the early days before the ladies and Lindsay came along. I watched these guys play this set live in Australia in 2015 with the whole band. Absolutely fantastic. During the whole concert, it was amazing to watch the eye contact and interaction between the band members. I was so disappointed a few years later when Lindsay was ejected from the band and then when he and subsequently Christine died. Rock on, Rumours members. I'm so sorry you couldn't have ended gracefully.

You did a reaction to Silver Springs and that was the B-side to Go You're Own Way in 1977. This was Lindsey's song to Stevie when she broke up with him and she wrote Silver Springs, but it didn't get on the album, but was the b-side to this single. Then you saw her sing Silver Springs live with him in 1997, on the reunion tour.

Hey y’all!!💖💙 Please check out their song “Tusk” for a different vibe- and a great one! Very Tribal like- And the thing with FM is most of their songs are true to a huge degree- Relationships within the band, cheating, etc..over the decades- Really made for great music-🤷🏻‍♀️ if you ever get the chance.. please watch their comeback/reunion special concert called “The Dance.” (That’s the concert name)-Talk about looking and sounding better than ever decades later- and the emotions/ chemistry onstage is palpable!! Phenomenal!! Stevie giving those iconic looks and stares of hers- 💖💙👍🤘🏼

Buckingham wrote a lot of songs on "Rumours" and made Nicks sing them. That guitar solo is pure anger.
